Black to blue might be hard to pull off. It might be worth a try though. You could try krylon fusion I think if any thing would stick and stay that would be it

i was looking at maxx pics online and someone had their boxes painted or dyed the RPM color blue, dont know how they did it with stock boxes![]()
I would say paint it. When dying you need to go from lighter to darker.

have you guys ever tried the krylon fusion paint?
If you have the grey boxes, you can throw some RIT Dye in boiling water and dip the parts in the water dye mix for about 5-10 mins. I just dyed my battery and Reciever Boxes, along with my transmission case and Throttle Servo mounting posts. I used Navy Blue RIT dye from Walmart and they came out a nice dark rich blue.. I then used a silver paint marker and painted the raised Maxx and Traxxas emblems.. Came out sweet looking.. Only costs about 3-5 bucks and lasts better then paint, since the boiling water allows the dye to get into the plastic..
Finished Product using RIT Dye
but... i have the black boxes.
Paint on the black boxes is your only option I'm afraid. Painting them should work great. The boxes don't get a lot of abuse from rocks or things getting kicked up by the tires so painting will work fine. Prime them with a light color, grey or white, first. Then shoot em with the color of your choice.
