    Who has a Wii U?

Was just checking this system out. I need to know if you need a tv with the system, or if you can just use the screen in the controller? Spent about 10 min sampling a couple of games at my local game stop. I did not need the tv for any of the 4 games I tried. I want to mount this in my taxi and have no room for a tv. Here is the controller with screen:

The main unit will fit right into my laptop bag(along with my 19" laptop):

I already have a 6A 110v power supply in the cab for my laptop, so this would be an awesome powerful, portable system, that will not take up any more room than I am already using. If I can play most games without 2 screens(minus the tv), it will work. Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

I know that the system needs an hdmi ready tv... The screen/controller is pretty sweet. I want to use it as a handheld, but if you need the 2 screens to play most games, it wont work for me. Thats what I need to know. There were about 50 games avail at gamestop today, so if this was just launched, it has some support.

There are tons of screens available for automobiles. So if you need a second screen the question becomes whether or not HDMI has made its way to such devices.

You do not need a extra tv to play the wii U. There's a button on the controller to switch the action from your big screen to the controller if say someone wants to watch a tv show and you want to finish a board. The only games you won't be able to play are the motion based games that rely on the controller screen to play, but who cares! The games that matter like Zelda are 100% able to be played on the controller screen.

Reaper, cannot mount anything in the taxi. Yellow cab owns it, and it is specified in my contract. Thats why the controller based screen is so attractive to me.

Thanks Maxx,,, Thats what I wanted to hear.

    What games do you like?

As I said there are tons of screens available. So many that one has no need to "mount" anything.

And you would be better off with a proper portable system. The Wii U us is not designed to handle being bumped and shaken while in use. Just shutting a door or climbing in is enough to cause issues. It also uses a standard disc drive and you risk scratching the game discs on a regular basis.

I got a Wii u too. And some games DO require a TV. Granted most don't but some will. We got epic Mickey 2 you have to use the TV the gamepad shows you the mini map. But it works for mario, nintendo land and a few others. But you would have to be careful what games you get if you got no TV. And you.need a TV to set it up. But after you should be good to go.

Haven't tried racing games. Only a matter of time before Super Mario Kart U comes out, if it hasn't already.

Yea, minus the rims, body kit and blower lol...

Na, I give the customers a nice smooth ride, but need a racing game to curb the urge to go 100+ when empty lol...
