    The transformation begins!!!

Well, I sold my iPhone this morning to fund this project. Transfroming my Pede 4x4 to a 1/10 Rally. Am I the first?

    Start with this

Add these, and a few more. I have alot of work to do, and need more parts that my LHS and Traxxas don't have.

    To end up with this

Been working on this for several hours now. It's coming along good. Lacking some parts though, some I knew about and others that I didn't. Don't know where i'm going to get these parts, maybe E-Bay. I have to get the wheels and body there anyway. I need to swap out the shocks, or just rebuild them, I do have several spares.

Are the diffs supposed to be filled with lube, or just coated? I dont see anything sealing them from leakage.

I think I have the rest of the parts you need to finish this! I have been waiting on my chassis for literally MONTHS NOW! I am not sure if I want to build my rally anymore. LOL! Congrats and good luck with the rest. Arent you glad that everything is a direct bolt on?

Thanks, I just finished replacing the worn out half shafts, putting in some screws that I didn't have yesterday, and getting things all buttoned up. This is as far as I can go, until I get the last few parts. Hopefully I will know from another member by the end of the day, if he can hook me up with the rest, or at least some of the parts. Here it is so far. I will post a list of part numbers, if anyone wants to do this. Don't count on being able to get these parts right now though.

The differentials have a rubber seal internally. My pede diffs came with oil in the front and grease in the rear.

My diffs are wide open on the bottom. The only thing sealing the bottom is the bulkheads. I dont see any rubber seals. The diffs both have a coating of grease inside them.

Thanks, just waiting on front body posts coming today, body and wheels tomorrow, and my receiver box in a week or so. I replaced my rear diff casing and seals yesterday, and added 50k oil. Lubed the other gears with moly grease. I also swapped the shocks out for Big Bores, added swaybars (silver in front, black in the rear). Replaced all half shafts and stub axles. Also replaced spur gear due to some chips in the teeth (not potato chips).

Cool thing about this project is that so far, this car has only cost me a total of $30. I traded my no longer used 3905 E-Maxx for the 4x4 pede, then sold my no longer used iPhone for $200 to fund the conversion. The parts all added up to $230. I took the Big Bores, which are brand new, from my other P4de, so they will eventually need to be replaced with new ones.

Another cool thing is that now I know everything about how this car is assembled and how it works.

As for the sand paws, Im going to hang in to them for a bit. They are literally brand new. They have one 20 minute run on them. I bought them for snow. I would never go in the sand with this truck or anyof the other trucks I have. Sand is just too destructive and gets inside everything.

Wouldn't know about the snow, the build is not finished. If I were planning to use it in the snow, Id gear it down, and put my sand paws back on. Although I've only used them once, the sand paws are awesome in the snow.

Yup, waiting on the battery hold down, and the receiver box. I just ordered the orange black body this morning. As far as videos, I could, but they'd probably be kinda boring as I like to stay on pavement where it's clean. I cant run it until I find a new place to play, and I don't usually run in the winter. Funny thing is that, the 4x4 I used to to this project, was intended to be my winter bashing truck. I used it in the snow one time with my new sand paws, and then tore it all apart.

If this is all the parts then its hardly a stampede it looks more like you just built a rally.

    With the exception of the

    servo
    motor
    esc
    a arms
    axles
    half shafts
    carriers
    differentials
    shock towers
    shocks
    bellcrank

I did this conversion simply due to cost. I put $230 into this as opposed to $450 for a new one.

Thanks, I agree the orange/ black looks killer. Now I need to decide which body will be the basher body. I rally like both color combos, but want to keep one pristine.

Yay, after a week, the build is finished. I just got my orange black body, and receiver box today and I'm finally finished. Upgrades are minor, it has aluminum big bores, RPM A arms, 50k in the rear diff, and sway bars. I have to say, the white wheels look killer with this body. I'd like to put a cooling fan on the motor, but it doesn't seem to fit.

Start sellin stuff, That's how I did it. This project cost me next to nothing!!! I recently sold 2 stampedes, but those funds payed a vet bill, otherwise, I could have started this project sooner. Thanks to selling my iPhone 4 for $200, I just had to come up with another $30.
