Rear bearings. I need help.

I keep burning up rear bearings on my pede. Had stock. Went to alum. Now have rpm hub carriers.
Blew up another one last night.

How are you killing them? From big air landings, or are they just wearing out real quick? You may need to properly shim between the stub axle and bearing and between bearing and wheel hex using teflon washers. Tekno makes an upgrade kit which i believe changes the axles to 6mm and also uses larger bearings.

I seem to blow them up too, even w/shims. Might have to break down and buy ceramics. I run on a short oval with lots of acceleration and 4 wheel drifting through the curves on 3S, so it's pretty brutal on the rear wheel bearings.

Or get some real good bearing oil like hudy or any other big brand or try a skate shop that stuff is awesome...peace

Ceramic bearings are no stronger than stainless steel. They are smoother and have less drag for a small performance boost(very small). Dont waste money on ceramics unless you are racing for all the marbles or have money to burn. Check out avidrc. They have high quality bearings for about a buck a piece...

Thanks for the tip. I'm actually running Avids back there now to see if they hold up any longer.

Let me know if they hold. I have had nothing but good from avid.

BTW, avid also has ceramics for 5$ each if you ever want to go that route.
