I usually just take the hose to it. Just dont use more pressure than necessary to avoid forcing water into places it shouldnt be. Then I blow it dry with compressed air. It should be torn down occasionally for a proper thorough cleaning.
Who needs nitro, when you got LiPo?
I do the same as 4 Wheelin. I spray it with Simple Green or Purple Power, let it sit a minute, and hose it off. I'd recommend putting a piece of tape over the ESC button to keep the spray out of there. Also, remove any fans as they're not waterproof. I blow it off with compressed air after that, and make sure you remove the wheels so everything gets cleaned properly.
I don't clean it until something breaks...which isn't often.
Compressed air + water/simple green (or any similar cleaner)
I hose mine off then lean it against the garage wall for a while then flip it over to finish.
My Black & Blue Rally is faster than your color...
I just wipe mine with a damp cloth. Takes a while. LOL!
The simple green idea is a good one! Will do that next time.
I put mine in the bath and turn the shower on. Job done.![]()
I use compressed air to blow it off first, then spray it with Simple Green or Cycle Wash, let it sit a few minutes and then rinse it off with warm water in the kitchen sink. I try not to let water get through the holes in the rims and into the foam inserts. I then go back over it with compressed air.
I block the holes in the rims. Once they get wet they stay wet and it affects the wheels balance. BLOCK ALL HOLES!![]()
Take mine out to the garage and blow it off with the compressor. If it gets nasty enough I break it down and clean it with an RC mixture. Simple Green, Denatured Alcohol, & WD-40 mix. This makes the plastics look fresh and clean, and helps keep it clean(er) for longer periods of time.![]()
Rudeness is the weak man's imitation of strength.
thanks guys for the hints, looks like simple green is the way to go. Anyone use Purple Power?

Yes. Purple Power gets off the mud, grease, and everything else. I hose it down and dry it with compressed air and it leaves all the plastic and rubber parts looking like new. I do the wheels separately to get them inside and out and expose all the bearing holders, etc. that they hide. When you're done, spray down the metal parts with WD 40 or Dry Lube and put the wheels back on. Simple Green does the same thing. Buy whichever is cheaper.
