    Slash 2WD VXL Cooling Fans

Questions about cooling fans for the 2WD slash. i have the velineon cooling fan that goes on the esc, and i would like to get some kind of fan for the motor, because its been getting pretty hot recently. does anyone know what will fit on the motor to cool it down, and how to wire it?

Still waiting to see how the rpm case works,I did get a chance to try it out on an indoor track, the temp had to be around 60 degrees inside, and i pushed it hard, and never got over 120,so ad 40degrees out doors to that, and call it 100 degrees, you got 160 degree motor, Theoretically,I think I will need some extra type of cooling for the velineons, however the 3800 4 pole castle's never went over 100 degrees,no matter how hard I run them.

i dont know how to post pics, but i an try to explain it. i screwed the fan onto one of the clips so it fit on the motor. because the wire isnt long enough, i ordered a jst extension so now it just plugs into the receiver.

PM me and I can post/host the pictures for you and put them up here if you'd like.

I would like to see how these get installed and fit on a Velineon setup as well...

    Thanks!

ya it comes with 2 clips that go around the motor. to get most of the fan over the motor you can only use one.

I ordered the hr solid 30mm one I measured and I'll probably have to take just a little off the tranny casing and mount the fan directly on top of the heatsink I'll post pics when I get it done

So did you just get an extended lead to power this from the receiver?

Thanks for "sort of" posting the picture.

With the exception of the sticker on top,the hot racing fan and the name we all know to well, this could be the same manufacture.

the clips do look like they are supposed to act as small heat sink. you can fit both pieces on, but then a lot of the fan is not over the motor or the clips are pretty much under the fan.

Took the fan off, ground off the three fins between the fan mounts for the motor wires, and it fits like it was custom made on the stock rpm case.
Oh ya,I cut the first one of the four sink mounts,so they wouldn't hit the wires.
