So I have just the stock 7 cell 3000mah battery and a onyx 235 charger. What might happen if I were to set it to like 3500 mah? Just for a little added kick, or instead of kick would I have fire lol

The battery could explode from overcharging it.
Whatever it is I just said... I could be wrong.
LiPos are really meant to be charged at 1C. It's not worth risking a fire just to save a few minutes of charge time!
1) He is not charging LiPo's...
2) Setting mAh limits have nothing to do with C rate.
3) Not all LiPo's are limited to 1C charge rates. I have a set that is capable of 10C.

I've seen my son's 3000mah nimh take 3200 or so charge. I wasnt paying attention and stopped it as soon as I noticed it had gone over the limit. Nothing happened to the battery, it worked fineafter that, but I wouldn't recommend doing it intentionally. But I have heard of people charging a nimh to capacity say the night before they use it then right before they're going to use it the next day they throw it on the charger. Don't know if that's a good idea. But if you do some searching, you can find threads in it.
addicted much....
Zippo, I now realize my post could come off as rude... that definitely was not my intention.
Yes, a 5700mAh LiPo charged at 5.7 amps is 1C.
Forcing or fast feeding a NiMh used to be a good trick to get the edge on the competition for racing. It is very hard on a pack and I do not suggest doing it... the results could be hazardous.

BTW... I don't really know if the pack can take 10C; that would be 76 amps and I surely don't have a charger capable of it. lol

Right on y'all guess ill just stick with what's safe. So 3amp charge rate to 3000mah is doing it correctly?

Bingo!
I have the capacity shut off turned off on my charger. If it is sensing delta peak properly, it should stop when the battery is full. I have noticed that some are taking more than what they are rated for... which is not a bad thing at all.

You need the new icharger? What is the limit 60-80amps? Now that would be up your ally building a PSU for that but I think your set with your 78a 24 1800w setup for good charging maybe more voltage perhaps.
To op: I tries that doing .5 amps more and worked OK but don't recommend doing it OK it was with a NiMH a couple times but more with a nicd battery.

The new iCharger can dump 70 amps into a battery... most guru's suggest 30v/80a minimum... which is a 220acv supply.

There is a 48 v server supply that ksb showed me.wow that is some serious juice 40 amps a channel.i think I would prefer two pl6 instead of one dual charger, but just crazy power
Sent using lipo power

Dude... that is like bringing a plate of cookies to a Weight Watchers meeting and only letting them look at them!
What are the particulars on this 48v supply!!

Brand?
Anything?!

OK so I'm a nitro guy so pardon this stupid question but if I got a 5000mah battle I would charge it at 5amps?
Now I've been told I can charge my 3000@4amps but I've always gone with 3. Would 4amps charge it faster or just make it get hot faster increasing the fire hazard?
