    WELCOME AND CONGRATS!!!

I'm a fan of castle creations myself...the new Mamba Monster combo is now waterproof - and with 4s lipo.....INSANE POWER!!! Not to be confused with "LUDACRIS POWER" that you get when you use 6s lipo.

    "Red"

If you are looking for a cheaper alternative to the MMM, I would stick with the hobbywing/ezrun systems they are pretty decent for the price and you can get them from Kershaw designs, Dan has great service and stands behind what he sells. If you are set on getting that system, I have read it is ok same basic design as some other ok brands that cannot be named but be warned customer service for many of these off brand parts is non-existent at worst and can be frustrating to get into contact with at best.

Good luck on your build, welcome to the forum, and we love pics here!

Then I put the 54 and it was much better

18/54 is good for bashing, runs 35-40 on 4s and is not to hard on the motor/esc,

^^^that depends on the motor and esc!

When you get an esc/motor combo we can comment more on gearing, but for now you should get a temp gun, that will be the be all end all to your gearing. You will have to continually check temps to make sure your gearing and driving style is keeping everything in the safe temp range.

Maybe check.out a Racetemp strip for your motor. Easy to monitor your temps. Racetemp.com. but tell them you want the lower reading strip
