Most upgrades aren't hard to install due to the simple construction of the p4de(I think its eight screws and you have the front clip, rear clip, and chassis separated). You probably need a good set of hex drivers to make installations easy. (Like these: http://www.hobbywarehouse.com/s.nl?i...msla=T&whence=) The hardest parts to reach and service are probably the diffs.

I've finally decided it was time for "Blue Bayou's" mods to stop. I've modded it every way possible and I love the way it is right now.

Keep a lookout for "Blue Bayou's" nemesis "The Rollin' Tomato". This truck will be a faster, tougher, and meaner than the first.

Basic mods on "The Rollin' Tomato" will be there (Alum bearing adapter, Kingheadz motor mount, rear bearing carriers, steering blocks, steering knuckles, RPM a-arms, etc), BUT I will start doing mods I have never done before like installing a castle motor, using pro-line's protrac suspension kit, using different shocks, different type of wheels etc.

Will keep you guys posted on that!

I'm basically going a different route on hop-up parts for the next build. In that way, I can compare which one is better in handling and whether one is superior than the other when it comes to bashability.

    Thanks man!

Btw... UPDATE! 4th of July Project. Doing this before the visitors arrive. LOL!

I decided to do some body reinforcing since the body post on the right side of my pede broke through body/lid. Here's a pic:

Cut the drywall fiberglass tape into this shape (Made 2 of them. One for each body mount holes on the hood):

Put some shoe goo on the body first to make the already cut drywall fiberglass tape stick on the body mount holes (I really didn't care much for some of the shoe goo that got into the hood since this is my bashing body):

This is what the cut drywall fiberglass tape looks like after applying a coat of shoe goo:

I applied another coat of shoe goo until it covered all the drywall fiberglass tape. After that I put the body washer on top. Used a body reamer (Sharp looking thing, circled in red) so I can make the body washer go in-line with the body mount holes. Did that for both sides:

Applied some shoe goo on top of the body washers, cut another set of drywall fiberglass tape and stick them on top of the body washers:

Applied final coat of shoe goo. Once this dries, that will be one tough body hole mount.

Here's an after pic (IMHO, not much has changed since it looks the same as the before pic, but underneath that is one tough body mount hole!

    More pics on next post...

For reference, this is what the rear looks like. I did this 3 months ago. After doing this mod in the rear, the body mount holes never cracked. I can say that it's so tough that the body mount holes were not able to go through it to this day! Take note, that I bash very hard with a lot of flips and cartwheels:

Pic of how the bed it looks like with the reinforcements done (You can actually see a little bit of the white body washers):

Materials used. Drywall fiberglass tape, shoe goo, body reamer (Shoe goo and drywall fiberglass tape can be bought in your local hardware store. Body reamer I got it on ebay for cheap):

Here is a pic of the underside with reinforcements done. I just have to wait for the newly reinforced hood to dry, use a body reamer to bring out the original body mounting holes and I'm all set again for another bashing day! Voila! There you have it.

    Steel CVD's: From teknorc.com Part num: TKR6852X

17mm Hex adapters: From teknorc.com Part num: TKR1654-17

    Both work really great!

With the old lid on (Super first stampede 4x4). IMHO, it still looks good.

Those wheels are 3.2 RPM Revolver wheels with the stablemaxx offset. Those wheels along with the 2.8 proline mashers make the best combo for bashing. The mashers really have good grip on dirt, gravel, and even asphalt! My preferred bashing tire, even better than the 2.8 proline trenchers I had before.

Yes, I used the same method as that build. Had more than 10 runs on 3S with this stampede. NO PROBLEMS so far.

Btw, updates will be coming for the rollin' tomato pretty soon. Just waiting for some parts to arrive.

    It's a non-stop process man.

Btw, I went to a lake nearby a few weeks back and did some bashing on gravel and mud. It was really fun doing it since I went WOT on the straightaways, did some flips and also hydroplaned on the water. Got it wet, dirty, muddy, grimy, and after about 5 hours of leaving it in the car, almost of all the bearings and some of the screws were RUSTED! I knew this was going to happen, but didn't expect it to be this bad. I will say this, I WILL NOT BASH NEAR/IN WATER AGAIN! It was really fun bashing, but taking stuff apart after made it a PITA. Most of the bearings seized so they were really difficult to remove especially the ones on the aluminum steering blocks (Take note, this was just after 5 hours of leaving the pede in the car). I had to use a lot of WD-40, and did some knocking with a mallet just to loosen the bearings up. Anyways, I took the pede apart on the SAME DAY, bagged the parts it looked like this:

Been wanting to get some "Bling" for the pede ever since I got it so I went to ebay and got this for cheap:

In case of any ACCIDENTAL water submersion, I will be ready for it.

    Will be installing this tonight!

Same here, i used to do quite a lot of mud and water driving, but i just can't be bothered to spend ages cleaning out the truck, so now i'm a fair weather basher! If the weather is bad we meet in our church hall with quad-copters, drifters and 1/18's

The take apart and cleaning process is really a pain. I really won't be bashing in places where the pede will get wet... EVER! Btw, my brother is getting into quad copters, what is a good starter quad copter?

I never like bashing in the rain because it would add to much down time on the pede and extra money for parts that will rust and with having 3 kids it would not be fair on them too.....peace
