    Btw...

    Update!

I decided to install the Traxxas clear gear cover (Part num: 6877A), while waiting for the heavy duty clutch kit (5352r) to arrive. The Traxxas Revo Slipper Pressure Plate & Hub (Part num: 5351) came in yesterday. Will post pics of the upgraded clutch as soon as the heavy duty clutch kit (5352r) arrives.

    Before gear cover:

After, with Clear gear cover. No pinion yet since I'm still waiting for the heavy duty clutch kit (5352r) to arrive:

I'll definitely let you know if they are worth it.

The sway bars (Front and back) are held tightly by the two black screws... I just have to find out when I go bashing later this week.
Hey stampede_fanatic, how are those Tekno rear aluminum hubs holding up? Did you happen to measure the alum. ones (w/ a digital micrometer) in comparison to the plastic hubs that Tekno supplies with their driveshaft kits? Because, as others have mentioned on here before, both the diameter & thickness of the plastic Tekno hubs are a little smaller/thinner than the stock plastic Traxxas units. The reason I ask is I recently installed front/rear Tekno driveshafts on my Stampede & am debating on whether I should drill out the stock Traxxas plastic hubs (I believe Slaughter33 did this) to fit the 6mm Tekno axles or go with Tekno's aluminum hubs like shown in your picture.

Yup, you can see the pinion if it ever moves out of place. I really like it.

Mine is starting to get dirty as well! As long as I still can see the pinion, it's all good.

The aluminum tekno hexes are really holding up well. They have not stripped any wheels that I have. I dont have any digital micrometer with me, but as soon as I find a tool that could measure them accurately i'll definitely let you know. If you ask me to choose, I will choose the tekno alum hexes over the traxxas plastic hex.

It's better to get the tekno aluminum hexes. I have not had any problem ever since I got them.

    Update!

Got the Traxxas Heavy duty slipper clutch (Part num: 5352R):

Got this as well. Traxxas Revo Slipper pressure plate (Part num: 5351):

Put them together, and you get this! (Stock on left side, Revo slipper clutch upgrade on right side). As you can see, it is BEEFIER and will definitely take more abuse than the stock setup!

Hi dude welcome to the forum and the addiction with trenchers maybe gear down if you are going to run 3s but get yourself the vxl fan for the esc and get a good single fan for the motor because it will help with temps and go from that ......peace

Thank you for the welcome. This forum is killer and this thread has given me way to many ideas for my wallet and the patience of my fiance` to handle lol! Although she did say she would paint the new body for me!! I am currently running 2s and will prob stick to that for a while. My driving skills are not stellar yet so im unsure of the speed for a 3s. I was on the fence about the fans but i am getting a overtray so maybe the fans would be a good thing with some air vents cut into the tray to let air in for the fans. I welcome any and all advise and appreciate it in advance.

Yeah with it's wider stance and rubber wheels, I can hold wheelies on dirt and gravel a lot longer than usual.

    Thanks!

No, I stayed with the stock 11-tooth pinion but bought an esc fan and dual fan for the motor to keep things cool.

Listen to this guy. He knows his stuff. That is the best way to do it, which is to gear down to avoid high temps on the motor esp on 3s.

The fans are useful since they are there to cool the esc and motor, but their main job is to dissipate heat.

Practice your driving with 2s first. 3s will really awaken the pede and it turns it into a different animal. It's like injecting your pede with nitro's. Wheelies on command I tell ya...

This thread is mindblowingly awesome. Especially for me, who is very new to this and is already addicted to learning more. I'll be getting my Pede around may 20th. Gunna start with a 2S lipo but wanna get some parts ready for when I inevitably bash too hard on my first battery

Would you mind putting part numbers beside your list of accomplishments?

Thanks, and I can't wait to see what else you have in store!!!!

You might have mentioned it but I missed it. Why do you have Tekno rear and MIP front?

I really plan to run tekno's for the fronts, but since I already bought the Traxxas Aluminum Steering blocks (Part num: 6837X), I had no choice but to use MIP CVD's. The reason is that the Traxxas Aluminum Steering blocks (Part num: 6837X) can only accept 5mm axles. MIP CVD's come in 5mm axles so I had no choice but to use them.

The tekno's on the other hand come with 6mm stub axles. The only steering blocks that can accept the 6mm stub axles are the XO-1 steering blocks.

    Thanks again man!

Anyways, my proudly built stampede is now for sale:
    http://traxxas.com/forums/showthread...-4x4-vxl-build...

My work schedule has changed and I have no time for my 4pede anymore. I really want someone to enjoy the truck that I have proudly modified, so I decided to sell it.

Don't worry guys I have not left the hobby, I'm still coming back. I'll continue posting here in the forum to help other members with their r/c issues.

I'll build another 4pede sometime in the coming months, with a different theme this time! I'll definitely make it tougher, faster, and meaner than the first!

After a lot of thinking, I have decided to keep my 4pede. I have done so much work to it that I find it very difficult to get rid off.

Yeah, I finally decided to keep it. A lot of planning and hardwork has gone into my 4pede to make it look and perform the way I wanted to. I am not leaving the hobby, just taking a short break with bashing because of my work schedule.

I'll still be here in the forums helping out fellow members. Just like you said, a roller would be a nice place to start and build from there. The next build would be tougher, faster, and meaner than the first one!

Yeah, I'm also glad that I decided to keep it.

I had to sell car stuff last year (On my real car) and I regret it since I was not able to find that same part anymore new.
