I agree if we are talking about control arms but applying that logic everywhere without further consideration will have you forever removing the strongest component. You have to end it somewhere, that's what Traxxas engineering department attempts to do. (with other considerations) There are a zillion people running the steel shafts with no problem at all and their transmissions are not exploding - not to suggest they cant, that's the nature of all things mechanical. As wise men have suggested, driving style is the best upgrade you can make. Landing 30 footers WFO is gonna break stuff

(I got an email from Tower Hobbies offering a $25 discount on a $50+ order. However...TH want's $55.99 for the Traxxas drive shafts...WOW...not gonna happen.lol).

Being new to the hobby...I don't know these things.
In the ATV hobby...I've learned over the years what brands to use and what to avoid.
Here...I'm at the mercy of those who "know"...because I don't.lol.
I'll avoid the Integy shafts then.

(I knew it really needs a wheelie bar running in 4wd...but now that I'm temporarily running 2wd...Geeez!!!! LOL)

From my understanding, Integy casts the aluminum part then machines it to look good. Casting introduces a lot of air into the part... the more pockets of air, the weaker the part.
Whatever it is I just said... I could be wrong.

I'd offer a suggestion if I had one, I don't run a wheelie bar because it would get in the way when trying to crawl and I need to improve my throttle control anyway. Traxxas seems a logical starting point, at least you will figure out what more you need at low cost (if anything)
I won't be doing too much crawling with it...and for my needs...the wheelie bar is a dire necessity.
I'll be splurging for a Traxxas wheelie bar...some driveshafts(either Traxxas or GPM)...and a led kit(probably the Axial kit) soon.
After that will be a few more Lipo batteries.
Then the Raptor body.

Ordered the Traxxas metal center shafts today from a LHS.
While I was there I picked up a Traxxas wheelie bar and a Pit tech Deluxe Car Stand.
Had to mod the back bumper to get the wheelie bar mounted like I wanted.
From what I can tell...if you want to mount it and retain the back bumper...you definitely have to make some sort of bumper mods.
I wanted the top bracket to be mounted between the back bumper and the mount instead of surface mounted on the outside of the back bumper.

Look into getting the traxxas aluminum rubber wheels for the wheelie bar. You'll be good with the plastics for a while, but they'll get Tore up pretty quick.
I saw a set at our LHS...but they were pretty big(like for the 1/10 wheelie bars).
Will they fit on the 1/16 wheelie bars?

Ok...yesterday a buddy gave the stock wheels off of his merv...but no tires on them.
I'd like to get some tires to put on the wheels.(will probably paint them first)
I would prefer some sort of street tread tire(not a slick).
What size do I need to look for...and does anyone have any recommendations?
Or would I be better off just buying a complete set of tires/wheels together?
Figured it would be cool to have a second set for the Mini Summit.

They are a weird 2.3" size... stock is all that fits as far as I know.
