    opti-drive problems

i'm having some issues with the opti-drive on my revo, the throttle control drops out when driving and the red light on the opti drive comes on . then it goes off and the truck takes off again for a few seconds and then the red light again. also the throttle servo acts erratic when the motor is off, jumping back and forth a little bit very fast.

still new to nitro , not sure what to do

Unplug the Opti-drive and plug the throttle servo directly into the receiver. Same problem?

Is that an easy fix? And where is the sensor located?

That sensor sits on the front of the transmission most people just take it out because of the problems it has.

The senso is right on the front of the tranny the one with the red and white wires. Its 2 screws and 1 plugs. The most you have to take apart to replace it take the battery cover off so you can unplug the opti drive plug. Me personally i like opti drive. It keep from scattering the tranny if u accidently shift into reverse going full speed. If your new Revo i recommend keeping it unless you go to forward only conversion.

You will find your problem probably arrises from the sensor being dirty or as such

Take it out all together. You can still use reverse just remember to come to a complete stop before shifting into reverse.

What advantage do u get from the forward only concretion? Other than not having a problem with the optic drive

Less rotating mass so that the truck accelerates a little quicker, simpler transmission so less parts to go bad and need replacing.
