you could try the method of velcro on the sides to keep the body on.
With great brushless comes great responsibility.

I do also and no problem. You have to use commercial velcro. Also, I used crazy glue to glue my velcro on my body. Snow and wet condition and so far (~1month), no problem.

THanks for all the input all give the velcro a try, and those body clips seem to look like they will work well

I've read about using a drill to enlarge the clip holes and use 1/10 clips.

I just picked up these, haven't tried them yet tho... http://thetoyz.com/Traxxas/Mini-1-16...ing/BRP/13831/

I just did the industrial Velcro along the battery doors on my MERV. It seems to be holding well, and looks good.

It is so easy to take off... tons quicker than 4 pesky body clips!

Dual lock is very strong! Easier to clean out too.

If you are going this route, be sure to clean the surface with alcohol before sticking on the Velcro/DualLoc!
Whatever it is I just said... I could be wrong.

On high speed runs I use both. Velcro and drilled out posts for bigger clips. Up to 50 just the velcro

velcro works but doesn't stop the front lifting up under speed or after a roll

I've got the velcro on mine and run well over 60 with my merv and never had the top come off. I'm pretty positive it is the Dual Lock like Jimmie was talking about. So much better than the clips
    Just can't get enough....

I just use velcro on my Merv and have had some vicious rollovers and crashes and it seems to hold up real well. If you are leary on the velcro only you could use it in conjunction with body clip leash. The leashes mounts between the body posts on the body front and rear and has the clips on the ends and if a clip comes out its still attatched to the leash and the leashes come in all kinds of colors so you can get them to go with you color scheme. I use them on my onroad nitros and my Maxx but just use velcro on the Mervs. Hope this helps.
