27mhz to 2.4ghz tqi question

I just bought a tqi 4 channel radio for my used summit I just bought.
Is it pretty much a direct swap? I already have a tqi 5 channel reciever I was using on my Revos before I went with the spektrum.

Yeah, its pretty much a direct swap. Just make sure you plug into the correct channels on the Rx.

Reason I was asking is that there is a module in the receiver box that I think doesn't get used when you go 2.4 ghz.

That is correct it should have ch 4 and 5
On the rx instead of the tloc module.

Well, I got the new transmitter today and was installing the TQi receiver and noticed that the tlock module also powers the lights, so I had to keep the module in there but needed to plug in the rear lock servo to channel 5 since the TQi wants to use all 5 ports on the receiver, otherwise it locks both diffs on the first switch position.
Other than that , everything works fine and the iPod dock functions great.

Awesome!! Last time i took my summit out... Noticed all my lights quit :'( well i also just bought a new TQi... Been lazy not wanting to work on it(got a new merv need do diffs too in that...) I kinda figured broken wire or something... Now i know where i goofed!
