More sclale looking.
1) Put on the short Traxxas slayer arms, it will decrease the track width but allow the tires to actually fit under the wheel wells
2) smaller tires . The stock tires look nice but too monster- trucky
That really all that is needed. I would suggest a more realistic body to complete the look.

Would you have to shorten the drive shafts?

This is my on-road version...
Has many suspension tweaks since that video... Like P3 rockers and shortened shock shafts to lower the ride height...
And, looks like this now...
If I'm not mistaken, I think I was the first one to do this convertion...

aww man, i love the scale look with the slayer parts... gives me an idea to do with my ERBE-gt...
Why do you guys do this to me...
grrr. Slayer or Slayer Pro suspension?
What wheels are those? Split 6 2.2" ? Almost looks like a 2.2/3.0 in the pic...![]()

Ok this will be done. decided it today, i need to buy like $35 worth of parts to do it.
Plus tires of course. The wheel/tire combo in the green pic in my last post. What are those?
I can see SuperSwamper on the sidewall... Rc4wd model name but they don't come in a SC size... (which im convinced those rims are.)
Can anyone confirm that?
(RAH)² (AH)³ + [ROMA (1+MA)] + (GA)² + (OOH)(LA)²
They're definitely 2.2's, there's a comment from the creator in noir's link above. The tire looks to be a Super Swamper TSL/SX tire.
Wheels look like Slayer wheels...
Google "Project Traxxas Summit LT", second link has all the details.

Summit w/ TQi
Rustler VXL
i'll have to do some digging. If the wheels are slayer (as i suspect) i cant find a super swamper SC tire... not on an initial look anyways. Im sure there are other options, but those sure look good.

Got it thanks for the tip, did some more digging. Looks like these 2 guys from above modified some 2.2 rubbers into a SC style/size.
I dont know that im gonna mess around with that.
I'll figure something out.

After reading your FAQ thread again and seeing some more info on the rockers, can the LT rockers still be used with the slayer arms? I want to keep as much ride height and travel as possible.
Also to run the Slayer wheels it needs 14mm hex's, is it as simple as putting a 4954 on?
Thanks

i finally feel ok with selling the summit and hang around here cuz the community is awesome.... AND THIS IS WHAT I GET!?!?! ;LJAS;LJASF;LJASDFHEWF98H23RHU2TLHB2TJBHO&Y^t*&%f@ uyVBQ2 NOW I WANT A SCALE PROJECT SUMMIT!!!!!!!!
you guys are going to be the death of me!!!! well technically it will probably be my wife as a result of my 'obsession' (if she only knew what i actually spent on my previous summits lol) and but you all are a direct 'cause' to fueling it!! you guys/gals are just a bunch of enablers!!!!!!

Still lost when it comes to a tire combo for this.
The build thread i saw he modified the tires. Turned a 2.2 Crawler tire into a SC tire.

Nice, still leaves the tires as the biggest hurdle to get over. The rest is cake.
(RAH)² (AH)³ + [ROMA (1+MA)] + (GA)² + (OOH)(LA)²
I was thinking of just trying these out of the box. I have no idea what they are like or even if they are suitable.
http://www.wheelspinmodels.co.uk/i/109676/
This is all gonna have to wait or pay day anyway so there's time to think and research....
I would tend to think the SC tires end up being smaller than a 2.2 crawler. gonna have to check into that and make sure.
I have all sorts of SC wheels i could potentially use, but they wouldnt be any darn good for crawling.
Maybe some 1/8 buggy badlands or something... not sure.
(RAH)² (AH)³ + [ROMA (1+MA)] + (GA)² + (OOH)(LA)²
Just ordered the full kit list for this conversion including the super swampers. I'm happy about the conversion but have a few things to learn. I'm gonna paint a new shell for the first time. I've never glued tyres let alone mod them first. There's a bit of dream melting to be done but that's OK.
Gonna be interesting...
So, the tyres are the most worrying job so lets try one of them first...
You can see the line below the sidewall writing and above the bead, cut along here with curved lexan scissors.
Its actually quite easy. The diameter of the hole you've just cut is smaller than the bead on the wheel so once stretched over the bead it sits snug...
Next is to cut the foams out to fit the wheel. They are memory foam and came out quite squashed, I'm waiting for them to return to shape before I make the cuts...
Awesome. This wheels look really good!

Foam cut away.
My first attempt at gluing tyres, not the neatest job but they aint coming off any time soon!
All done.
Next: Paint the new shell...
Spot the mistake:
The wheels look the same at a glance but are different offset and hex size. I've glued the swampers to the wrong wheels. Looks like I'll be learning how to boil off tyres too.
Rubbish.
Lots of progress tonight...
Can't run it yet as I'm short two hex adapters, should arrive tomorrow.
Then it's painting the new shell...
wow! looks great!
Summit, dewalt 12v, 18/68 gear, T-bone skids
Doesn't look that terribly difficult, thanks for the pics and how to on the tires. That was my biggest question about this.

So i just ran it over my lunch break as the hex's had arrived. The snow is a good 6" deep here and the smaller wheels and lower ride height meant it (obviously) struggled more. Where there was grip though it performed well and felt just as stable at speed, i was expecting it to topple over easier but that didn't seem to happen.
I need to spend a bit of time dialling in the camber and tow of the wheels as their off at the moment. I also need to change the shock oil to a thiner one, at the moment the shocks barley return and on the rough it just bounces around. Whats stock so i know where to start? (i have already changed the springs to yellow front tan rear as recommended)
The wheels are also out of balance and it can be felt if holding it off the ground and spinning up the wheels. Is this something to worry about?
Last thing to do i think is changing the pinion/spur to return the gearing back to 'stock' speeds, again, any advice here would be great.
Thanks all.
