Boss 302 rebuild in to a summit

I picked up this 302 Mustang Boss Cheap on Craigslist With all intentions of making it a summit in the beginning All it said was it was not working And had no charger but as cheap as I got it I did not ask questions and sent my wife to pick it up. When she got there it was a kid and his mom. When she got home I could not believe it. The pic will show what i found that's why I'm saying a rebuild not just converting it

1st off it had 2 different servos in it




Then after looking at it closely I got the big shocker every metal moving joint on the rc looked like this




It looks like red lock tight to me

Well after I noticed that I decided that every piece will come apart front and rear differentials look good but the transmission was a different story



After taking it all apart i Scrubs all the parts with dish soap and a toothbrush

Looks like they ran it wet and just left it that way.

Gooberd up grease on the knuckles... blown bearing in the transmission... all that rust!!

Some of the parts I ordered came in today Still not enough to get started




And I figured since you restore completely apart I would dye some of the parts





these wheels are not for the summit but i have like 5 sets so i just put a set in there to see how they would come out

Did you dye the chassis? that would look sweet if you put that in the 1/16 grave digger

yes i did it cane out good it dont look it in pics but it did







got all the parts i ordered in to day !







Just a set of wheels I had laying around I would run them for now but I only have 2



Got my drive shaft today there's little bit of difference between the Mustang and the e-revo shaft

Hey bud, I'm looking into doing the same, converting my boss to a summit! I'm a little confused about the gear ratio, would I
Have to mess with it? Also, would u be able to provide an itemized list of parts to do the conversion? U can email if u like to respond directly. Thank you for ur time hope to hear from u.

Does the drive shaft have to be swapped out from the boss 302 shaft to summit shaft or could u use what u got in the boss?

The drive shafts are the same.
The axle shafts are not. The Boss ones will not work. I suggest getting stock 1/16th Revo shafts.
