should i have 1 stock servo, two stock servos, or one non-stock servo? I am hesitant to put in a new non-stock servo because i dont want to do a lot of trimming and drilling. Are there any servos that i can put in that will easily fit?

There are direct fit servos from Hitec, savox and bluebird... others also. They require NO trimming but WILL require a new servo horn I believe.
2 stock servos is better than one and it will stay waterproof. But a single aftermarket servo with more torque and steel gears is definitely better than 2 stock servos.
Pede, Summit,
ERBE, Rally,
Motley Crew, 1SQ
I agree with pav... here is a little more info:
The Bluebird 390 is nearly a 100% drop in... and extremely easy to waterproof.
To waterproof mine I pulled it apart (4 screws) put a gob of grease around the servo horn and smeared a little RTV on the seams as I reassembled. Took less than 10 minutes.
Here is how to install:
BlueBird 390 Set Up
All stock hardware is used.
NONE of the hardware included is needed!
There are tab braces that do not allow the servo guard to sit flush.
IT IS OPTIONAL TO REMOVE THEM.
I have done this both ways without any adverse reactions.
Here is a picture of the braces:
(thanks goes to danielhr77 for the picture)
The tab braces create a small gap between the chassis and the servo guard.
Here is how it plugs in:
You will also need to reverse the servo direction.
These are the steps for LINK and TQi radios:
Hold MENU for 3 seconds

2 Green Blinks
Press SET

Whatever it is I just said... I could be wrong.
thanks. i was also looking at the HS-85 (with Losi crawler arm ) which one do you think is better?
85 is analog... you might have issues with an analog servo in a digital radio system. Some do, some don't.
5085 is the digital equivalent.
6 in one hand, half dozen in another... which ever you pick is going to be the right choice. lol

I was also looking at this issue. So would I need 2 390 servos or are you recommending 1 390 to replace the 2 stocks?
1 390 is enough to turn most any tire that works well with this platform.
Whatever it is I just said... I could be wrong.
What about the Hyperion Atlas DH16 servo? Its listed as having 166 oz of torque at 7.4 V
Summit; ERBE; E-Slayer; MERVs
Wraith; AX10; RX10
To run it at that high of a voltage you would need a separate power system... a BEC.
Dimensions:
32mm vs stock 30.5mm
16mm vs stock 14mm
31.6mm vs stock 27.9mm
Dual mounting holes vs stock single mounting holes
The 166in-oz is listed as holding torque; 83 as dynamic.
It may work, but to run at that voltage is going to require more equipment on your RC and some modifications to get it bolted in.

I just ordered a Blue bird
BMS-390DMH High Performance Digital Servo (Extra Strong) 5.4kg / .11sec / 22.5g
Specification:
Weight: 22.5 grams / 0.79 oz.
Dimensions: 29 x 13 x 30 mm / 1.14 x 0.51 x 1.18 inch
Torque @ 4.8V: 4.6 kg/cm , 64 oz/in
Torque @ 6.0V: 5.4 kg/cm , 75 oz/in
Speed @ 4.8V: 0.14sec / 60 deg at no load
Speed @ 6.0V: 0.11sec / 60 deg at no load
I also have a Hitec 5085. I'll compare both servos, one will be in my summit and the other in the Erevo. both trucks will have dirt hawgs.
I have both and both work great! The 5085 is quicker and stronger then the 85 not just digital
