Better to use a smaller pinion when running 6cell so it runs cooler
Do you have 2 cell batteries too? I would try a 5 cell run first(2&3 cell batteries)

Maybe 6"s" is ok but 6c is a BIG NO WAY!!!!!

BIG difference between "s" and "c"
S: number of cell in the lipo
    C: Discharge capacity

ex: 5000 mah 4s 20c lipo = deliver 100amp continiously but still 4 cells in the lipo

17 pinion and 68 spur gear is a good starting point for 6cell.
Then drive the truck as you normally do and take the motor temp with a temp gun. If its over 160 go smaller on the pinion

You can use a 6s pack, just hang on to your hat! The Maxx RIPS on 3s!! It's always fun, and I don't mind replacing broken parts; so it kinda works out....

Ditto this! When I put 6S in mine the other day, I immediately shredded a stock tire...

I run 6S all the time. Although I don't run it high speed in my area. For that, I take it open field. Just picked up two packs of 5300 mah, 3S, 65C LIPOs. Can't wait to do a speed test!

You will be fine with 17/68 (or the stock gearing your maxx came out the box with) on 6s. Ran my Truck for about 6 months like that with NO temp issues.
    Always get a 2nd Opinion!
