About to press buy now button

Hello, I am about to buy a 1/10 summit for about 500 bucks, I see that there are two models, 5607 and 5607L which is the one with Lipos.

My question is, is there any other difference other than it comes with 2 x 5000mah lipos instead of 2 x 3000mah nimh batteries?

5607L is like 700$... I would rather buy the nimh one for 500 and buy spc lipos later on...

Can I do this? Can I use lipos on the 5607 model? or I would need to upgrade / change stuff?

Thanks for help!! one hour left until I buy!!

That is exactly what I did. I even called Traxxas and they said the only difference in the "L" comes with LiPo's and two chargers. BUT the charges are crazy small.......the only charge at like 800 milliamps and they said it takes like 4 to 5 hour to charge a pack.

Both models come with the same ESC, so you can run li-po on the 5607 in the future if you wish. I am unaware of any other differences. I am sure they are pretty much the same as Traxxas is not even showing the regular 5607 on the products page anymore.

Good work!! IMO that $200 would be better spent on some bigger spc batts and make up a big chunk of a better charger IMO.

Just be sure the model you got has the LVD....even if it doesn't a LVA off eBay is an easy fix

At least yours works! Mine just died the other day! Won't charge batteries without saying it has a short!

Saying "connection break" message? It also happens to me sometimes, I noticed that deans connector I have soldered on some of my batteries cause this.. I just unplug/plug them a couple times and it fix it. Maybe the cheap deans from ebay are causing this.

BTW 2 x 8.2amps are coming my way for this truck! woot
