Revo Gearing Questions
Hello i have a few questions about the the revo gears for my jato 3.3
I purchased a 40T spur and a robinson racing revo 20T CB
I was wondering do i need to change anything else before i run my jato
And how much difference in performance will i notice?
-
Nothing else to do really. Once the gear mesh is set, you're good.
As for performance increase, you lose acceleration (most of it was always lost to tire spin anyway), but gain a fair bit of speed.
-
I also jsut purchased the traxxas CVD Upgrade and a 36T Revo spur any ways that will affect? Better or worse
-
Well i took out the Jato 3.3 today and tried the new gearing it wicked fast! My buddy's stock jato 3.3 does around 60mph I was hitting 73 on mine. Wheelies on demand
-
Did you loose much acceleration with the new gears and was the 73mph with the 20/40 gearing?
-
yes with the 20/40 gearing i was hitting 73 i had my carb pretty lean
I will be receiving the traxxas performance CVD they claim it adds power
we will see

nice man! i just wish i could get mine to wheelie. i just think im not tuning it right. 73! thats sick for just changing gearing. are they both metal gears?
-
yup robinson racing 20T CB and Revo 40T Spur I also put TKO Ceramic Crank Bearings in as well
-
So i have a question. I have a 36t spur that i purchased when
i got the 40t spur when doing the revo gear conversion. Can i put
the 36t spur with the 20t cb? and what difference would it make?
Or would i have to lower the cb teeth as well?
