JC Concepts over tray

Just saw today that JC has listed a part number under "whats new" for an over tray for the Rally / low cg chassis. Just thought i'd throw out an FYI for us Rally owners. I got one of the wicked fast orange ones for Christmas.

I plan on using this item as a complete inner fender wall around the chassis. I cut the most of the top off of it for my slash, and then installed an Outerwears cover to cover the top. It will keep the temperatures down a lot lower than using the full overtray only by itself.

I dont have any pictures using the overtray because I sold it to someone else when I left Iraq. I did install the Under-Tray on my Slash 4x4 after that and did the same thing,and it worked great. The undertray really smoothed out the bottom of the Slash while protecting all the steering linkage. The bottom of the LCG rally chassis is allot smoother in its design, so I am not expecting an Undertray any time soon. It shows the it on their website as an upcoming product, but I will be buying it when it gets released.
I dont care for how my old Slash 4x4 Outerwears cover fits around the side of the nerf bars. Had the same issue on my Slash which is why I mounted it to the top edge of the Undertray. I had left about an 2 inch sidewall all the way like a wraparound fenderwall around on it when I trimmed it.

My plan is to use the material from the outerwears cover to cover vent holes in the Jconcepts cover. Ill use hot glue to attach it... should allow things to stay cool but dry.

Nice find man!! I think its a tad to much cover for us southern boys. We'd have to hack a handful of vents for airflow. LOL

Love it... looks cool and I think there are lots of areas to vent it for us colder norther boys (hehe).

I dont think id run it in the summer, I dont usually run any of my trucks when its wet or muddy. But for the snow, when its cool out already, this would be perfect. Definitely ordering one as soon as they are availiable somewhere.

I caught that 'pun'. LOL They are nice though, and almost bought one for my Sl4sh build I did earlier last year. I then decided on the Outerwears & Dusty Motors as an alternative. Good idea that you are getting one and cutting vents and using the OW material as filters. I sure hope you like the Dusty Motors one. They both have pro's and con's and pricing isn't a breaker on either one for what they help do.

Got my confirmation that my overtray has been shipped also. Looking fwd to getting it installed. Just received my Kings Heads motor mount yesterday also. Time for another batch of changes to start.

Received my Over tray and did a quick install. My temps were always too high when I used one on my Slash, even with slots cut into it, so I am using it more as a debris guard to keep everything out of my chassis, along with my Outerwears cover to help keeps thing cooler. I did not like the way the shroud by itself had to go around the nerf bars to stay on. Maybe if they make one for the LCG chassis, they will sew some notches in it so it fits a lot cleaner. I may do some more trimming around the top to allow me to change batteries with only pulling the shroud out of the way.







This is with my Slash Outerwears cover installed also.
