I have been thinking about getting a 1/16 rally but what is its off road capabilities, would it do well on a dirt track. what is its highest ground clearance? Or is this just an on road car

With great brushless comes great responsibility.
Mine both sit pretty low but only tend to get hung up in the grass.
I bet witht eh springs, and tires/wheels off of a Slash...the Rally would be a blast off road.

A RC car with road rash...is a happy RC car.
I'd say dirt... smooth dirt with the occasional pebble.
Whatever it is I just said... I could be wrong.
can it be lifted a little and stick some larger tires on it.
With great brushless comes great responsibility.
Like I said...Slash springs would lift it some...and put Slash tires on it.
I'm about to get a package with a second set of shocks and I'm gonna put truck springs on them...just so I can set my KB up like that and try it. I already have a set of pretty much worn out Slash tires and I'm sure I can get another set pretty cheap.

could you post a pic when you get the slash shocks on it?
With great brushless comes great responsibility.
The only place my Boss would run off-road would be a baseball diamond type surface and short, short grass. Then I changed it over to a Slash and have better results but still gets hung up in grass.
The Super Derecho
Definitely will when I get them.
Heck...my Summit is completely torn apart right now.
If I get energetic tomorrow I may stick them on the KB just for kicks.
If I do I'll post pics.
Ok...got bored tonight.
First we have my Ken Block Rally car as it sits stock... 11/16" to the bottom of the battery door.
Not going to cut it for off-roading.
So...what do we have here?...stock shocks off of my Summit(other than spring rate...same shock as a Slash).
Once these are installed...looks like 1 3/8" to the bottom of the battery door for a gain of 11/16".Not bad for just a shock swap.(I also installed a set of Slash tires/wheels...but they are the same height as the stock KB tires/wheels.)
Now this is definitely more suited for a little light off-roading.In my opinion,it actually looks a little more like a "Rally Car" now.

You could remove the limiters in the shocks as well to give it more clearance
True...but I didn't want to take my shocks apart...and the Summit shocks were just laying on the table anyway.

could you take a pic from the front that looks pretty cool
With great brushless comes great responsibility.
now it actually looks like a rally car, the tires almost look to small![]()
With great brushless comes great responsibility.
I agree...and them being almost completely shot doesn't help.
I'm sure if they had full tread... instead of almost none at all...they would be a little taller, look a lot better and actually wok like they are supposed to.

i have really wanted a rally but what is a normal price for a roller and a used rtr
With great brushless comes great responsibility.
I got a steal on my Ken Block Rally.
The guy I bought it from had converted it into a Merv.
It had a broken right rear U-joint,and the servo was/is buzzing.(Still need to replace the servo, but had a spare axle in the toolbox)
But...it also had everything to convert it back into a KB.
I picked it up for $150.
I immediately switched it back to a KB.
I have a current trade going(just waiting on it to arrive)...where I traded all the Merv parts to a guy for another KB body,KB tires/wheels,and all the KB suspension.
Plus...I have a mint condition KB body that I picked up from a LHS that was shutting down...for $30.
Deals are out there.
I have a buddy that just bought a Kawasaki Rally VXL from the same LHS that was a demo model.
He's thinking of selling it...and I know what he paid.lol.
I'm going to do my best to get it from him.(my son wants a Rally bad).
Honestly..I think the KB is the most fun of all my cars...even more so than the BB Merv.

$150 what!!
With great brushless comes great responsibility.
That was my reaction too.
Actually..he was asking $225.
I would have paid that...but figured I'd make him a low ball offer and try to get him to come down a little.
I was totally shocked when he took my first offer.

I've been wanting to convert my merv into a rally also, just to run onroad with a few buddies
During the cold months they go to an indoor heated parking garage. Good surface to drive on n drift.
I can do the whole swap in about 45 minutes...it's not that bad at all.

would it be a better idea instead of just buying another car to just buy the parts needed to make the switch when i want to
With great brushless comes great responsibility.
Totally up to you...for me...i like having multiple cars...so I can just grab which ever I want and go.
I have my KB rally for when i want to go play on the parking lot, track,or tennis courts across the street at the high school...
My Summit(which is stock with the exception of the wheelie bar) for jumping, and playing in the mud/water...
And my BB Revo for when I want to go fast.lol

Rally's a little small, and even hopped up on full-stroke Slash shocks can't cope with too much in the way of rough terrain. But on smooth-ish dirt it's a blast.
