few questions about the summit!!!

hey all!
I just bought myself a summit and I am wondering what are some good future upgrades in regards to motors and esc and overall upgrades that benefit the summit in all areas.

Congrats on ya summit and welcome to the forum.
Probably the most commmon ones are.
1. Swap out titan 775 for a 14.4v dewalt. A bit of modding is required.
2a. Summit comes stock with double orange springs on the front and double yellow springs on the rear, so you could buy another set of double orange springs (Part #5649) and swap them with the double yellow springs on the rear shocks, which means you will have double orange springs all round. this makes your truck a bit stiffer all round.
2b. Or you can take the double orange springs off the front and put them on the back and put the double yellow springs from the back onto the front. This reduces squat in the rear when accelerating and makes the front soft.
3. Swap out steel toe links and pushrods for red aluminium ones (part #'s 5338R and 5328X). This doesn't really benefit in the means of driving but it does stop rust.
4. As for the esc, i think a fair few keep the stock one but some use different ones and hopefully they will chime in.

and one more quick thing... if it is 14.4v does that mean i have to buy different batteries and cant use two 2s lipos in the car?

no. you can use the same esc, and the same lipos. you are only changing motor. kershaw designs has the motors that you can have the wiring preinstalled. also ebay sells dewalt motors, but you solder them with wires.

ive seen them solder together both red to one dewalt red. and both black soldered to one black dewalt wire.

does the dewalt mod add more torque or speed???

It adds both because with more torque you can change your gear ratio to carry more speed
