Hi guys, quick question,
Im going to get the proline street fighters for the slash, which one should i get? 2.2 or 2.8?
Depends....What are you going to do with Truck and how do you want it to look. If you to bash and jump over stuff go with the 2.8s If you want to go for Top Speeds and maybe race it on flat ovals or road course go 2.2s.
OR do whatever you like and think is cool!

I think the 2.2/3.0 tires and wheels look more like short course equipment.....if you want your ride to fit the standard body, the 2.2's will look more to scale.
But as stated above.. Do whatever is to your liking and think is cool!
Remember bigger tires require more power and gearing changes.

Haha oops, i made another thread about this because i thought it didnt make one, well anyways, will i go fast with 2.8? Or do i have to gear down? Because i live in cali and its mostly pavement here. But i want it to look cool with big tires but fast too.
Get the 2.2/3.0
I got them on my slash
The 2.8s would be if I was looking for tires like you want, big and wide
The 2.8s will rub your body bieng wider do you gotta trim it.
The 2.8s will make your truck faster because it's like giving it higher gearing
But that will make your motor run hotter
Just buy the 2.2/3.0 and higher gearing if you want

No offense but there is a lot of false information in this thread. 2.8 wheels and tires usually have the same overall outer diameter as 2.2 wheels and tires. The only difference is in how much sidewall the tire has. Therefore a 2.2 wheel and a 2.8 wheel with the same tire style will require similar gearing. Also a 2.8 with less sidewall will be better for just street and a 2.2 will be a little better for off-road and jumps. With all that said it's really just what you prefer in looks, a smaller wheel with more sidewall or a bigger wheel a
with a low profile tire.
Wikipedia:
The sidewall is that part of the tire that bridges between the tread and bead.
2.8s on street would be fantastic. Better wear, better grip, less rolling.

Would not say there is alot of false information being given out on here. There are many tire and wheel combos available from various manufactures. I have seen different tire combos available for a specific rim and some vary in sidewall height.
I would tend to agree in a pavement tire that the sidewall thickness maybe consistent between 2.2 and 2.8 rims.
My best advice is to talk to guys that are running what you are after and spend sometime researching it. If you have a LHS it would be wise to got look and see if they have options in stock. So much better to see and hold stuff in person then to try and decipher stuff online
Traxxas Slash all others are just Toys lol
It wouldn't be slower.
It will hear the motor a little faster
2.8 is okay
Better wear as the tire is wider which is also more grip
Bieng wider will make the tires hit fenders so you might have to trim the fenders
Honestly when you asked me about my 2.2/3.0 streetfighters I cant tell you yet
Snow is all over my street so i haven't got a run on them

Maybe this quick sketch I made will help
2.2 and 2.8 tires should be same width but they are wider than sct tires

Build it Ford Tuff,Just Use Chevy Stuff!
No, widths are usually the same as I wrote twice in my previous post. Since this is for a slash just get the 2.2/3.0 and be done with it. 2.2 and 2.8 might have clearance issues with the body.

If you go up in tire size, you want to drop the down to a 21/86 or even a 19/86. Other wise yes, the motor will be hotter.
The upside to the 2.8 is they have a better chance of not rubbing on the hubs.
if you do 2.2.. just make sure they wont sit in so deep that there is interference.

If icant find the proline street fighters will this wheel work for front and rear?
http://www.rcplanet.com/ProductDetai...I3086&CartID=1
Im thinking of using these with proline road rage
Not really
Only if your running tall tires
(proline 2.8 mashers,trenchers...)
It will be faster I guess but they will balloon to the sky!
Really any tire will make you go faster if your currently using stockers
The proline protrac kit only enhances your geometry of the slash for racing
The stock length is fine. If you don't want to trim it raise it up to the inner hole and put some preload spacers in the shocks
If you have decided 2.8 check out jconcepts G-locs
Slash 2wd, Slash 4x4, 30th digger, Rustler VXL
NO NO No !!
Those are 2.2 rims
These are the rims you need
2.8: proline desperadoes, jconcepts rulux
2.2/3.0: proline split six, proline renegade, jconcepts Hazard and more..
Make sure if you do buy 2.2/3.0 you but FRONT rims so you have the right offset
It you don't your rear will be wider BUT you can rotate the tires

Lol i dont know where , i think they only make it for the rear.
K look heres what im tryna do
http://traxxas.com/forums/showthread...light=pavement
I wanna make this to a street car but i dont know what rims will work. The guy who made that used 2.2 road rage tires but then the new 2.2 are longer in width? Im thinking of using street fighters and white sc traxxas wheels lol cuz i know itll work for the slash but i dont know if itll look good for the protoform body . So what wheels work? 2.2 or 2.2/3.0
