New order

Just placed my order at KD for a Dewalt motor and the center dog bone kit. Also ordered a couple of fans for than southern heat. Sent an email to SPC for some 8000mah 2s lipos when they become avaliable. Should be some good times ahead.

I had one issue with him. Then the next time everything went good. So hopefully it wont be an issue. I dont know where else to get the Dewalts from. Also those batteries are suppose to be in late tomorrow in stock.

Dewalt #396505-21 .
Avoid the one that has the four tabs it is more work to make it fit.

So WHY is the Dewalt motor seemingly the go-to motor upgrade?

It is just a bit more robust.has replaceable brushes,also makes it easier to clean.can be over volted for more power.is able to handle a bit more aggressive gearing for a bit more speed.

If it has connecters on the wires to attach to to brushes (spade connecters)....cut them off and solder the wires to the brushes.They have a bad habit of not lasting long in a rc enviroment.I would also recommend if you want to be able to remove the motor seperate from the esc get a decent set of 5.5 mm bullet connecters if none are included.

cool! I just got my SPC packs today and I took some photos for an unboxing Summit should be here on Thursday! No hobby shops around here but is there an electric cleaner and bushing lube I can use from my local hardware store?

Motor cleaner for the motor. Or electrical parts / contact cleaner for the motor - make sure it is safe for plastics. Bushing / bearing oil or 3-in-1 oil for the bushings.

I like that fan mount for the EVX2... Id like one of those too.

The fan mount came from KD. After seeing it I feel confident I could build one. The fan of course started off as an esc fan for a Velineon system. Cut all tabs of any sort off and then just bolted it to the mount.

i am looking on the KD website and I cant see were you can order the dewalt by itself. All i can see is there dual cradle with a single dewalt in it. Did you ask them specifically for just the dealt with 2.4Ghz radio adjustment as i cooked my second motor Titan motor.

Go to the brushed motor section of the products. It's in there with no mounts. I run a 2.4 with no caps. Did all the wiring and connectors myself.

so when you mean no cap you mean no capacitor to be wired in just straight wiring from the motor to the ESC.

Can one of our radio guru's clarify this I read it somewhere and forgot about it .
If you run with or around others who are running am still.you should consider running caps.the dewalt is still spewing out "noise" that can interfere with am signals.

You cal always do what I did. Un solder the wires and xaos from the 775 and solder then on the dewalt motor.

Caps soldered:


The yellow scabby stuff is liquid flux, not yet cleaned off with acetone.
Z-bend in the capacitor leg is so I can pull the brush for inspection or comm cleaning and hopefully not have to desolder anything.

Is it necessary to have a cap from one brush to the other. I have one from + to case and one from - to case.
