You have the multi-shaft version of the 3.3. You'll need the #4144 clutch adapter and the short threaded insert that came with the engine.

Yep. Or you need the IPS shaft with starter nub (if you are going to use pull, roto or EZ-Start) and replace the crank.

Ask the place you got it from if you can exchange it for the one you need(TRX #5407).

If they say no then Ebay a crankshaft. Ebay search "Traxxas 3.3 crankshaft"
    $8 shipped~~ http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Traxxas-...item33756f464e
    $9 shipped~~http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-2-4GHZ-R...item19d06f1508
    Look out for the tree/crunch!

Personally I would just eaby a chop shop 3.3 TRX #5288 ISP crank & be done with it, I mean your only lookin at $7~$10 shipped.
And all you have to do is swap out them out.

This is the crankshaft you need, TRX #5288

This is the crankshaft the engine you have has, TRX #5289

If you are going to use the multi~shaft cranked engine then you will need the clutch pilot shaft adapter for it, TRX #4844.

    Looks like this,

Here's a video on how to break down the traxxas 2.5 engine it's the same for the 3.3.

    Hi,

Sorry for brining this up again – but I have the same problem I have got the 5409 engine and the shaft need to be modify – I don’t want to open the engine and replace the shaft.
Installing the nut will surely solve my problem?

    Thanks’
    Oren.
