    M wifes new camaro body

So I just painted my first item with my new airbrush other than 1 stencil. This is my wifes new camaro body. She picked out the colors and scheme. Thought I'd share...

It's her favorite color. I've never airbrushed or used faskolor until I did this. So she chose lavender fasglitter to be backed with blue faspearl. But after 4 coats of the glitter the blue doesn't show up until the light hits it at an angle. In the bottom picture towards the rear left of the spoiler you can see the blue start to show through.

Very nice paint job! Did you use lexan paint?

    Looks surprisingly great

And it hasn't even been peeled yet

I would totally do a body like that, only thing i would have done different is painted the front and rear Valence Jet Black to offset. Maybe even on the side skirts.

There's an article in Decembers RC Short Course. Applying Flat Black to the outside of the vehicle. Painter removed the overspray liner where paint to be applied, prepped the body for paint. The paint he used is called Spaz Stix High Gloss Black. (When applied correctly it's surprisingly Flat Black)

    His technique:
    30-35 psi.
    Back off 6"
    Apply several coats.

BTW: AWESOME JOB on the Camaro body... not bad at all!

Wife gets what she wants. No argument there.
The airbrush company is KUSTOM AIRBRUSH DESIGNS. They did the flat black paint.

I cut the body post holes too far forward since it didn't have any markings. Now I just have to adjust the front and rear body height. I had all the body posts marked and then forgot to drill them before pulling the plastic covering off. Hopefully I'll remember next time. lets see how long this one lasts lol...

The wife read this post and now she wants led's. So she has been looking at light strips and such too. She doesn't want to beat this body. Now I gotta paint a different one.

I use shoe goo and drywall tape for all our bodies. Helps stiffen them up amd prolong thier lifespan.
