    I took the brushless plunge

Well the virus finally came alive and I had to put the MMM/2200 caste combo that I had laying around into my summit and used an old monster truck nitro body I had as well, first let me say I was surprised that with stock gearing and version 1.24 software loaded on the esc with all setting to low, that the truck is not that bad for slow driving the cogging wasn't bad at all, but when I geared up to 18/65 the cogging became evident during low speed running, but hey I live in Florida not a whole lot to crawl on around my house but there sure is a lot of grass and pavement and the trencher x's are great here's a couple photos
I also moved my toe links to the outer most hole on the a arm and loaded a milder throttle curve in the castle link settings, it is a blast for sure I have an erbe sitting in pieces and said let me just try it out lol I likes it a lot. Maybe I'll start saving after Christmas and get a Tekin system but for now this works fine.

Sweet, this is something i might try on my Summit as well. Im in the same boat, i have an extra MMM system here but a sensored system would be so much better served for the summits low crawl range.

A cheaper option than the Tekin system is the MMP ( mamba pro) and a sensored motor. Used they are nearly 1/2 the price of the MMM, they use the same software as the MMM, can safely run up to 4s in the summit and are sensored.
Plus they are fairly easy to waterproof and you can run a DeWalt with it for wet adventures.

I kept the stock system, I am not worried so much about price but if you say the mamba max pro with a sensored motor is the way to go I will definitely look into that, thanks noir for the info, and it is definitely a different beast now, speed can break things but I am a decent driver and know where to operate it at thanks for all the replies I'm on the way to the lhs to find a new monster truck body lol

Well the way to go is Tekin. But $310 vs $145 begs to differ.

I totally agree, not saying I am loaded or anything lol, I love all my castle products. Here's some photos with a body I got from the lhs, all they had for bodies were the revo 3.3 nitro body but its okay let's everything breathe I don't beat my trucks up anyway it came out okay I guess

Interesting option, what motor do you pair up with the MMP?

I ran a 2000 kv sensored with mine
On 4s it has plenty of power.More than the truck needs for its intent.it can be done you just need to use some caution
6s is in my opinion is a recipe for parts soup.
3 parts twisted and broken axles
2 parts chewed up spider gears
    1 part broken a arms
Sprinkle of melted clutch to taste

Summit IN a pear tree... with those speeds!

Yeah 2100kv and MMP works great for me! I am running two 4s 5000mah's (10,000mah total) and it's fantastic!

    Sounds tasty

4s is just fine for me. Was that a 2000kv Tekin or offshore?

I've just plunked down the $$$ for a sensored set-up so I can multi-purpose my summit. Want to be able to keep up with erbe friends when not crawling. Any advice for suspension tuning for this type of set up? I imagine I will have to tighten things up quite a bit to handle the higher speed and power???

I have a Summit that I installed a Tekin RX8 ESC with their 2250kv motor.

In another (old) thread I wrote a bit about my experiences with that (including the suspension):

Are you sure you want a summit for going fast?It doesn't really handle it very well.

Fast is relative. If the terrain is really rough, like thick brush or a field of mounds, 30 mph is really fast. a 775 wont do that. A brushless motor will, and you'll have torque to spare to play with. Just dont waste your money on a Tekin or Mamba. I love my cheap Chinese motors ROFLMBO. ESC=$40 BL Motor=$55 It's wheely city and goes 50MPH.
PM me for help converting your Summit to brushless

Just dropped Hobbywing WP8, 2000kV motor combo in to my Summit today, WOW!!!

Firstly, for $145 delivered for ESC, motor and program box, the quality appears remarkable. One HV servo for my big helis cost more than that.

Secondly, I'm just starting to relate to all those posts I've read about blown diffs. Had my first one today. I've got a spare diff I need to shim before I do the replacement but the one I've popped is an original and I'm surprised I haven't popped one to date.

Top speed on this 2000kV motor with 14/68 is stupid fast for a Summit. I did a little fine tuning on the braking and probably should have started with the punch at 0 instead of 5, out of 9. My Trencher X's on Desperado 1/2 offset rims do balloon a little but now the dog has no chance of catching it. Tightened up the slipper too but will probably go back to the lighter slipper and lower punch on the rebuild.

I've got a rolling E-Revo chassis coming and just hit "BUY" on the CC MM2 2200 combo. 6S scares me after my little sojourn into 4S lipo on the Summit. In a good way. There was a substantial difference in power/speed between my 2/2S 4000 20C's and 2/2S 7600 40-80C.
