    Street racing these RC's

What up everyone? Lets see, I jumped into this hobby about a year ago and like a lot of yall, my first car was a Rustler. A few months later I got a sweet deal on an X-o1 that i just could not pass up.

Fast forward to now, Ive been able to talk several of my buddies into the getting cars and enjoying the hobby as well. As of now there's about 10 of us with a total of 26 cars. Ive recently found an entirely other group of guys across town with supposedly just as many cars. I met up with a few of them Monday and we are now in the process of organizing weekly drag races... THIS IS GOING TO BE FUN...

My ? for you all is which vehicle do yall think will give me the greatest chances of winning? As of now my Rustler has a VXL set-up, however, the Mamba Monster set-up wil be a Christmas present to myself. There's no doubt in my mind that after speaking with these guys, Ill have on of the fastest cars at the races. Thing is we're drag racing so the fastest speed run is basically irrelevant....(if im not mistaken, the race will only be 130ft or so)

So again im asking, which one of these car do i need to put my time into to give me the best chances. Thanks...

So you have a rustler and an xo-1? The rustler with a mamba monster would probably be better, and i say that because its smaller and lighter.

I was thinking the same thing. But, being that Ive never seen nor driven a rustler/MM set-up in person, I have no idea what to expect. We've all seen the videos on youtube with them flying down the road on speed runs but again, Im only looking to kick someones tail within a distance just over 130ft.

I just pulled the trigger and ordered the MM and Esc which will be here next week. All the youtube videos on this set-up are only giving gearing suggestions for speed runs. Which gearing set-up do yall suggest will best suite my needs.

Ive got just over 3 weeks to have everything ready to GO, Jan 3rd will be the first Race.

    Again, thanks for any/all suggestions.

The mamba will have enough power to make the rusty have insane accelleration (good for short tracks) and awesome top speed also.

With that motor/esc, you may snap the stock driveshafts pretty quick. Be sure to dial back the punch setting for the throttle with the castle link.

I'd say you'll need to add a pound or two of weight. Otherwise either the nose is going straight up, or you'll spin out of control. Weight will keep you planted. It wont hurt your acceleration and top speed. The mamba monster is made to run vehicles much heavier than a weighted rustler.
