Will new tires on my slash make a noticable difference?

Yeah so will good tires make a difference? And if so, what are some good all-terrain tires for the slash? Thanks in advance.

Hey 1fastmr2,why does every one have a willy issue?
I run two vel slash's,and my front end stay down pretty good.
I can turn the wheels left to right under full throttal and the truck just pushes straight.
I can wheel y if I wish,but it's not a problem,nor is under steer,just back out of the throttle,and they turn fine.
Even on 3s.
If I catch a little hill or bump,It'll come up on me,but just a inch or two and stay there.
Wish i could get my GM powered stang to stay down.
My green one was tuned in perfect,I hit second the same time the wheels hit the ground.
The one I just build I have to get in and out of it three times,and it still wants to come up.[IMG][/IMG]

Stock tyres are pants. No question.

Trenchers are a very reasonable all round tyre but definately master of no surfaces. I run them and I've been very happy with them. My next set will probably be some badlands, from what I understand a much better general off road tyre, but weaker on road than the trenchers.

You need to consider surface though especially if you race or even bash at a track. If you do then see what others use/recomend. When you just generally bash go for something thats suits the surface(s) where you spend most time.

Oh yes and consider going for a wheel & trye combo that allows you to use the same all around so you can rotate them.

Stock tires are good for nothing but looks. Trenchers SC or Gladiators SC would be viable options for all terrain running.

Even the torqueless titan spins the BFG's on any surface with any looseness on top.

Gotta agree - good tyres make a differnce no matter what. Stocks are not good tyres.

Yes. New tires will make a difference. I run PL Snipers on one truck and Duratrax Line Ups. I am very happy with both of them.

Really? When I had my stock brushed system I wouldn't spin the tires but I would wheelie
Now with my castle I dont get any grip and no wheelies

errrrr.... thats because there's no grip. Because the tyres are crap. Put better tyres on a stock motor or a brushless one and things are almost certain to improve. Put a powerful motor on poor tyres and things will get worse. Just like they did for you.
Get better tyres and fit them you will see a difference.

mine are now bald with tears everywhere and almost completly unglued

You'll likely want to retune your suspension when you get stickier tires on the slash as you'll experience more traction rolling and oversteer.

Surprised that Doc Iso hasn't chimed in, so I'm gonna be the first to recommend Hot Bodies Rodeoos. I also like PL Switches, Gladiators, and Trenchers for all terrain use- Switches are the mildest, and Gladiators are the most "off-roady". Badlands are great dirt bashers, but are not for street use of any sort.
