lipo buying question

whould i be better buying a 10000 mah 7.4 40c lipo for 60 bucks or
2 5000mah 40c 7.4 for 30 bucks

I just made the switch to lipo a month ago with these and WOW I wish I didn't wait so long. And I could not be happier with SPC stuff.

I'd get the two 5000's. It only takes a minute to switch out packs and then if something happens to one you still have the other.

i went with two gens ace 2s 5000mah 50c .. they were 30 bucks a peice so i figured id try them , alot of people like them

There a number of benefits to going with 2 smaller packs VS one big one. First, weight. If you only run one pack at a time you wont be carrying all that extra weight.
Its a good idea to stop every so often to check temps and make sure nothing has come loose... so stopping to swap batteries is a good chance to do that.
Ive never run a vehicle through 2 5000mah packs without SOMETHING going wrong so a 10 000 mah pack would always need to be discharged at the end of the day.
If, in the future, you get a revo or emaxx based vehicle youll need 2 packs... you might think that will never happen... but you might be surprised too.
You can charge one pack while running the other... with a single 10 000 mah pack you can only run, then charge.

Cost wise, its the same, convenience I think goes to the dual pack setup. Simply because of the size, weight and fast charging.
