Yes it does . My mind is already thinking of rib the edges, I have some left over XO-1 chassis from building my 1/8, so that should give some more strength.

Sure will bud I can't put them together now, still waiting on strc bellcrank. I like how the arm pins fit very snug without any play.

Quick question on the strc, do I have to use the servo saver spring from the stock bellcrank? and how do I take it out? Lol.

Ya. You use the stock spring. When you remove the front bulkhead and disconnect the servo you will look down at the stock bell crank. There will be 2 hexs that you remove. The bottom part of the bell crank will slide up and off the post. Can be tight fit. I'm haveing some issues with my strc bell crank and have asked for help in the slash 4x4 section of the forum. There's some good info there you should check out. Don't over tighten from what iv read. This might help.

What I'm having problem taking out is the actual spring, I never took one out yet lol.

Remove that hex nut on the left and unscrew the round piece on top of the spring. The stock one snaps on and off if I remember right. Where the strc screws on. So if you can't unscrew that piece then it pops off and then you can remove the spring. If you look at the crank on the left you can see tabs coming up that let that round piece to pop off to remove the spring.

yeah I can see it snap right on, I even push it down and I must say that spring got a good tension lol. do I have to take the bearing off first?

Ya. Take the whole thing apart bearings and everything. You will either be transferring it over to the strc or discarding it to the spare parts bin. I'd wait to take it apart until your strc gets to you so you can look at it complete and remember what your doing. Strc does not provide any directions. And if your burnt like me you will forget how it goes back together. Lol

It comes apart really easy. I compressed my OEM springs in a vice to reduce the required load on the assembly. I did this for all 3 of my cars with the STRC bell crank.

what I like about it is, you can take it apart in two pieces, so the steering bellcrank stays in.
I think Traxxas has a better fit to the chassis than RPM...

    But RPM still good...

got my STRC bellcrank today. hope this pictures will help to someone that are having trouble installing it

    came nicely pack

individually pack to prevent from getting scratch

out of the bag (minus shoulder screws and bearings)

make sure to line up this part (pointed arrow)

    here's a comparison with stock

next drop the tension spring in place

next the treaded collar with lip facing down

    continue to next post......

not sure how much tension, so I lay it down next to stock and base it from there.

next put the bearings at each end

next...drag link, put a small dab of blue Loctite.

STRC include 2 stainless steel screw to secure the top bearing but its Philip screw head, so I decided to use the stock ones

turns out the stock head screw hitting/binding the chassis so I opted it with round head screws

just when you think your done LOL

Great write up. Thanks. I used the stock screws as well instead of the ones that came with the strc bell crank. I'm going to switch them out and see if that solves my issues. I'm using mine on a HCG chassis that I'm having the problem on.

P.S. Your not supposed to tell anyone when you do that.

looking at the X3 body, I got to think,....what if I make the hood scoop for air duct to cool the motor off so, I come up with my spare XO-1 air duct.....cut to contour from the inside.

as the air enter and exit from the inside.....with the curve side, air will travel downward right above the motor.

tested my air scoop, run it for about 5mins (no full throttle but lots of braking), temp outside around 75* (much better than the past few days heat 97*)
didn't use my temp gun, test it by touch and I must say its cooler than those other runs . need to do more test run to see how the body act at higher speed.

good news: I just look at my tracking # of my 2650 motor I order from Hong Kong has arrived in US land.

The scoop looks great! And I love the fact that you were able to cobble it together with a part that has the Traxxas logo...sort of pays homage to your cars' roots and how far you have been able to take her!
