    fillin diffs

I have looked all very and cannot find any answers. So I filled my rear diff up with oil and now when I screw the 4 screws down its very hard to turn the shafts is that correct? Also how full of oil should it be. Thanks

Fill until the fluid is almost covering ( or slightly over ) the cross shaft the holds the other two smaller gears in place. As for the binding in the diff. Those 4 screws might be to tight, try backing out an 1/8 of a turn or so, till the diff is smooth. They can be a little finicky till worn in a little.

What weight oil did you add? If you put 100, 000 in your diff it's going to be hard to turn.

Have you taken it back apart? It doesn't seem like it should be really tight with just 7, 000 fluid. You must have something binding. I plan on running 100, 000 and that will be tight.

7k should offer some resistance but not be hard to turn. Disassemble and check for binding gears. If you pushed the planetary gears in too hard it will bind.
