    Pay Day

Well last night was payday for my fire service (part time). We get paid only once a year so its real sweet just before Christmas. Ordering some Nitto Mud Grapplers and nice rims for the truck, going crazy on the kids presents, and headed to great wolf lodge on boxing day.

Christmas is comin alittle early for me however, Im headed to my LHS this Saturday to pull the trigger on the next RC. Everyday I keep switching back and forth from the Merv or Slash 4X4. Im really starting to lean to the Merv, but I guess it will be a last minuet decision

    Which is better?
That all depends on where you plan on running it.

I would consider the 1/16ths great street and dirt bashers... but not for grass or any resistive terrain. They heat up too quick.
The "weak" differentials can be remedied pretty easily and cheaply.
Whatever it is I just said... I could be wrong.

I have a slash 4x4 right now (Actually I'm waiting for my batteries to charge then I'm going to go bash!)
The slash 4x4 from what I've seen is bulletproof. I smashed it into our swingset yesterday off a jump at full throttle and it just bounced off and kept going.
Only thing I've broke is a front bulkhead and thats because I didn't have a brace or bumper on it.

We get paid monthly. I could only imagine what my check would be if it was yearly! Though when I was an officer of the relief association that yearly check was nice. Someday when I have normal hours again I'll run.

I have a 3.3 Revo and a 1/16 Boss/Slash. The latter is too small to run around in the yard and does alright in the dirt. I may look to sell it and get something bigger on the electric side.

Well I pulled the trigger Saturday and couldnt be happier. I ended up going with my gut and getting the Slash 4X4. Heres what I got.

All in I was a shade over $700 with the 3s lipo and charger. And hoooooolly heck is this thing stupid FAST !!!!! Only down side is the guy at my LHS didnt sell me a new battery hold down for the Lipo and I gotta use zip ties for now lol. Anyone know what/where I can get this to secure my Lipo ????

Is there a exact size I need to fit that battery ? I see the stock one has cm readings on it. I looked all over the Traxxas site under accsessories and didnt see anything.

I really happy with the purchase. It nuts how fast this thing is. Im a little suprised how poorly it jumps thou. Sound terrible when it bottoms out. Think I might need to upgrade the shocks or something. I tried to mount up my stampede wheels on it and it looks sweet and should handle the jumps better too. Only trouble is the body rubs on the over sized wheels.
