    Need help with my Rustler

    If i buy a brushless motor and esc for my rustler will i have to get any thing else because it is the xl-5

    i used the vxl system, it dropped right in without problem or needing anything else. might have to loosen slipper clutch a lil.

    k thanks cause i wanted to know if i need any parts to have a brushless motor in my rc car so i wouldnt brake anything

    Put 3S in it and you will break things, or at least if you drive like me you will. So, get some spare parts to keep the fun going. Totally different car with that power change.

    Current Xl-5 models come with metal gears int he tranny so you are set htere. One thing you will need to replace is the bushings in the bearing carriers. XL-5 models still have bushings and you will need bearings in very short order if you run brushless power thru the bushings. I would just replace the bushings with bearings from the get go.

    but i got mine a couple years ago maybe like 2 and would it still have metal gears or do i need to buy new ones
