    My LaTrax find

So durring our towns annual garage sale days I happened to stumble across an old mustange rc car. I thought how cool because it reminded me of the ones I saw and always wanted when I was younger. The car said latrax on the back but at the time of purchase I had no idea it was a rare find. The car is complete but the radio was long gone. The plastic is starting to yellow and the stickers are pulling away at the corners. Also the rear tire had a chunk out of it like a dog chewed on it. But hey whos complaining when it was 25 cents.

Anyway after searching ebay for a replacement tire I was bummed to come up with nothing. Craigslist was meticulously searched and most other auction sites to no avail. Today I went into Vendor Village an auction house in town here and low and behold a little NewBright Jaguar with tires the same style.! 2 dollars later the Jag was mine and I came home to swap out.
So without any further text I give you the mustang.

Only found just this on internet.Couldn't find anything else.
Jim Jenkins started Latrax in the 70's and then sold off the company to Brinkman in 1980. Then in 1986 he started Traxxas.
So the guy who founded LaTrax went on to start Traxxas later on down the road.
Problems. The manual's good starting point. Simple

cool. I knew latrax sounded like a pre-traxxas name.
I think I might do my best to add some moder go power to this vintage car. Nothing major maybe a xl5 and stinger motor with a 2018 steering servo.

Man DONT mod it... just put it on a shelf and keep it... its a piece of history and deserves a spot of honour and respect. It would be a shame to ruin something messing around with it... especially when you only have $2.25 into it... just put it on a shelf as a show piece.

Wow, I thought Traxxas was always Traxxas. I can see the resemblance in the names. That would be fun making the New Bright car a mean drifting machine!

Latrax R/C are very rare these days. I spent 8 years searching for one with no luck until this past year. I found two unused Latrax Mustangs and an unused Latrax Rough Rider on Yahoo Japan! Auctions website. On ebay, Found an unused Latrax Firebird. Cost me a lot of money. But it was well worth it.

A new high for a used Latrax Mustang. What's going on with these high prices for a Latrax? I couldn't even get that much for an unused version.
