If you want to go for speed, get an ERBE and put on some more beefy tires. The summit is NOT designed for speed. Its an extremely capable off road truck that can and will go just about anywhere. It CAN be converted to brushless but its driveline is not really intended for this. The biggest weak point is the diffs. The 2 Speed trans isnt too bad at handling a 4S brushless setup. But the diffs arent happy unless you spend some money on them.

and ERBE with HEAVY diff fluid can go alot of places... not as capable as a summit, but youll get the speed your looking for.

If your even considering speed get the erevo. Speed wise the summit will disappoint you. And if you try to speed with a stronger/brush less system you will only end up complaining about how poorly the stock tires handle speed, how the tall suspension makes the truck tippy during curves, how the differential gears keep stripping, In short you would end up making your summit into an erevo with locking diffs that can't handle high speeds

Get the ERBE. Don't get me wrong I love my Summit, great for trailing, challenging yourself or running with other Summits however when bashing with others (Summits are rare in the wild, you see more Slashes and Savages) it'll will be painfully obvious how slow it is

I have the best of both worlds Summit with ERBE's MMM and it works for me, no diff or driveline damage but that's just me. As for the wow factor, Summits draw big crowds because of it's size and the tall tippy suspension adds to the drama
