Right now, i'waiting for my spurs & pinions for the twin 550, to be delivered, and starting to think of the twin velineon setup!
I also send my cnc file to my boss to have the motor plates machined!

Believe it, or not, it will happen!

Good to hear it, if someone tells you that you can't do it you're probably more motivated to get it done.

the two velineon are pretty easy to fit on the stock plate, but the two big block 550 need a custom plate to fit over the tranny!

A question came to me, if there is two motor powering the rig, what gearing ratio should i use? i was planning 31/55, but that is the ratio for one motor i have seen in the owner manual, is that good or should i go to higher gearing?

I'd think you could go higher since it's sharing the load between 2.

i made a custom support wit some plastic piece and put some spacers over the rocker arms, and mounted it over the shock tower.

I did this front and rear.

still waitng for it to be laser cut by our precision part supplier... might take some time, since he's doing it for free!
But i also need the parts i order on EBay to make it happen. on the other hand, i'm trying to do the same with the velineons...
Much more easy, and i don't need a new plate to do so!

Not really, , i still wait for some of my eBay stuf to come in( only got my bearings and rpm axel carriers), and drawing some alternative to the tranny layout and velineon motor plate. My boss told my , that the guy who is doing my BB machined plate will not be able to do it until after the hollydays, he has to much to do... well, i'll do the only thing there is to do, i'll wait. i might get done with the velineon setup this week-end, if my boss don't ask me to work...! If all goes right, there might be a twin velineon by monday!

A little problem this morning. The spurgear i ordered, were labeled wrongly... i got 45t spurgear in a 55t labeled packaging. That sucks. Will order some new from hr this time.

almost, i needed those spur to mark where the second motor will go, and then drill the holes to put it in.! And by the way, i just realized yerterday that vxl motor plates and brushed motor plates are not the same... **** the vxl one is small and thin! (oups, sorry for the bad word!)

Unfortunatelly no. went to future shop, and rhey dont have it in stock, so i ordered on eBay... i'm not expecting it until after the holliday. But at least, it gives me time to rethink all of it to make it better.

Do somebody have any hints about the gearing i may use with two 380 velineon? The gearing i had selected (28/55) is not ok, i believe. the pinion don't connect with the spur(trany still in the way). Is there a taller spur than 55t that can fit in the merv?

    Thanks!

i think 55t is the largest you can get without it rubbing on the chassis, but that leaves room for modification

I'm not even sure, i'm taking a guess, but i need to consider the space left between the center driveshaft so that they don't rub or bind... plenty of thinking and trial 'n error!!!

you should just do it, you are going to need a strong tranny to keep up with two motors
