    Just installed the D8s

Well i justed installed the D8s and all i can say is wow. They are the beefiest shocks ive ever seen. They mounted right up! The fronts are a little long but whatever, i mad them fit. I bought them off ebay, and i have no idea what shock oil there is in them, but the rebound is so smooth. These shocks are a must on your slash 4x4!

i would think any 1/8th scale shock would work considering how light these are compared to a buggy/truggy

    Glad you like them

Start with 30wt and if it's too thick, try 27.

Ive had them in for some time now. Still tuning them but getting closer to the magic spot. A lot of trial and error.
Still keeping my SC10 big bores in the kit.

I just now got mine in the mail just for the rear. Are yours the ofna rears or fronts? I got rears and way too long. Trading for fronts.

They are very well built, I can't get over the look of them. With my buggy body, wing, 17mm adapters and buggy wheels, it looks just like a legit buggy!

I got the rears, Going to use them in the last holes out, if they are still too long then they should be long enough to use on my emaxx for single shock conversion.

They are Ofna LX2 rears, 16mm they are super beefy shocks!

The rears are too long for either the front or rear of the slash 4x4.
For a perfect set up you need fronts all around with gray springs. To make the fronts long enough for the rear its just a matter of swapping out the ends for long ends. With rears in the front it doesnt matter how far out you run the mount, they are still too long and guaranteed the truck with handle like sheet and have extreme body roll ending in a roll over in every turn. They may work in the rear run all the way out but still unpredictable. 15mm in length difference is HUGE!

I dont know if my vorza setup would help the slash, but I'm running 80wt fluid in mine, with the stock springs. rear is reloaded to almost the end of the threads on the rear, and about 50% of the threads on the front.

My vorza's shocks sure are smooth

Will any 8th scale shocks work? Like the ones from an ofna car since they are cheaper?

Sure all should fit. Some may need spacer's top and bottom and some are a direct bolt on. Length is a key factor also. A few MM's longer than stock is okay but anything more you can have issue's with mounting.

There is NO difference between the front and rear shocks on a D8, Vorza or Ve8, unless you have a Hara edition. The optional rear shocks are the longer ones, stock shocks are same all the way around.

Your right that the vorza shock's are the same F to R, but the other shock's people are mentioning are different length's F to R.

The Vorza, regular D8 and Ve8 all use the same shocks. I have owned 3 Vorzas, a D8 and currently have a Ve8. The longer 112mm shocks for the rear are offered stock on the Hara edition D8, and are an upgrade for the Vorza and Ve8. You can usually get the stock shocks pretty cheap as people upgrade to the 112mm all the time.
