what part numbers break most often?

I just realized I was going to order 6 half shafts but they're only the plastic parts..

So was wondering if there's a part number for full half shafts and/or would love to know which part of the shaft breaks the most.

Part numbers would be preme but any insight is also great, thanks!

When you order a half shaft you get the 2 plastic halves assembled with the dustboot only. You have to buy the steel stub axle (5654) and output shaft (5653)seperate. They come with the pin etc to install them on the half shaft.
Part number 5656 will give you an assembled long half shaft.
Part number 5655 will give you an assembled short half shaft.
These 2 come as i said without the output drive and stub axles.

As for breaking half shafts the only thing i have broken/ripped is the dustboot.
After they rip (which will nearly always happen) i just rip them completely off and clean the half sahfts every now and again.
I know others have broken the end off the half shaft where the drive pin goes through to hold the output shaft or stub axle on.
But i can't really be sure as to wot breaks often. nothing has for me (YET)???

The plastic parts are what usually break
The metal parts are usually ok but I would have one of each just in case.
With good slipper setup you shouldn't be breaking them that often

The only spare parts I have used is the plastic parts of the axle shafts...
I usually rip the pin out of the bell and drill a few holes... so they are like swiss cheese before I finally put new ones in.

Now worries.
An yeah your right jamann. i have set my slipper so in high gear it won't wheely with a full throttle pull (rarely do that anyway) and so that in low gear if the wheels become jammed the slipper activates before anyhting breaks.
With this i have had my truck 6 months and haven't busted any half shafts.

A 1 mm hex wrench( Not included)
For the grub screw that locks the cross pin in place on all the cv joints.They can/Do get loose and allow the cross pin to move.I have a theory on the broken bell end issue.The pin is walking back and forth ,wearing the pin more.Allowing for even more play it moves to far to one side or the other under load and pops out.
The other side doesn't stand a chance against that kinda torque
Snap!!!have seen enough axles with chunks missing to maybe be seeing a pattern or just imagining I'm seeing things.....uh oh. Lol
Either way,delusional or not....
keep those grub screws snugged up. Lol

I thought i had done a rear drive shaft or something because suddenly after a bit of driving one day i only had 1 front wheel driving. a grub screw had come loose and ripped around and wore a gap through the axle carrier and fell out therefore no drive to that wheel.
the pin didn't wreck the carrier but wore a bit of plastic off it, enough for it to slip out.
keep checking them each run and never had a problem since

Good stuff, I'll be shimming the diffs before I run it so I'll give the shafts a look and locktite the grub screws
