I got a KB fiesta, charged up the battery, and it ran for a minute before it died. What's up with that? Is it cause its the first cycle of the battery?

No. What battery? What charger? What color light is showing on the ESC?

Stock battery. It started on the included wall charger but I moved it over to the Prophet Sport 2 from Dynamite charging at 2 amps once my friends battery was done. The ESCs LED was red... No lvd... That's the first thing I checked. I put it on charge again and it charged for 10 minutes at 2 amps before the charger said it was done. The charger is fine because it did my friends battery fine.

My guess is running nimh with lvc on?

No luck. I calibrated the tx... Made sure lvd was off... Took it out again... And it ran for maybe two minutes this time.

What kind of run times should I be getting? I know it depends on driving style but what's the average window? I ran it 1 more time last night and the run time was about 4 minutes. Could it be because I charged it at 1 amp?

1 amp is acceptable.
I think I was getting around 10-15 minute run times... it has been so long since I ran NiMh!Whatever it is I just said... I could be wrong.

The same amount of time.
Where lipo shines is the mah that can be put in the same space compared to nimh. You can get a 2500 mah lipo(SPC 2s2500mah) in the battery compartment. Next down from that is 2200mah 2s for the cheaper lipos.
For the 8.4v lipo (2s) the speed calc says it does 29.5 mph then on the 9.6v nimh it says 33.7 mph, I'd say expect a 2-3 mph diffrence between lipo and nimh. Lipo will be faster after running for a couple minutes and will have much more torque.Dye-no-mite Pow-er Go Fast, Wirrrrr Screeeech BOOM

I have actually found to get more run time out of the same mAh between NiMh and LiPo batteries.
My theory is that a good portion of the stored energy is transferred into heat instead of usable power.Whatever it is I just said... I could be wrong.
