    esc motor combo?

I am getting my parts together to build a stampede. got my list of parts to make it tough enough, but i'm not 100% on the motor/esc combo i am looking at. i want it to be "water proof" so i am looking at the sidewinder 3 esc and cc 1415 motor. i noticed that the esc says not to use with vehicles over 5lbs and i have no idea what a rtr stampede weighs. thoughts? suggestions?

It weighs more than 5lbs. You won't see too many people running a sidewinder because it tends to run hot in this truck. I haven't seen anyone use version 3 so maybe someone will chime in.

The mm2 is waterproof and gives you so many motor options so its down to how fast you want to go and what type of batteries you have got??But as slaughter said the esc's you have said with not cope with the weight of the pede 4x4.....peace

A lot of people go with a hobbywing ESC if they want waterproof on a budget. I would recommend castle though.

If you're not using sensored motor, go with the MM2. It will handle any size motor, and has enough BEC power for strong servos.

I run the blue losi-branded castle 2800kv motor in mine. It's the same size as the castle 2400. It has more than enough power, and will run on 2S-4S lipo.

    I ordered a 3s 150c lipo from maxamps.
Is there anything special I would have to
Do to mount the mm2 in the truck since its 1/8
Scale esc? Do u know if the 1415 2400kv motor
    Works with it?

That motor and esc combo will be so powerful and run cool all day pack after pack and i would use strong velcro to hold down the esc dude and you will be good to go after doing a little dremel work to fit the motor in.And start with a 17t pinion see what temps you get and go from there.......peace

Pity you ordered a maxamps lipo. Those are pretty overpriced and have silly specifications.
If you are planning to use the 2400Kv Castle motor, you can use the cheaper Mamba Max Pro too. Takes a little less room and is powerful enough to get the 2400Kv to work to make your Pede fly.

No, the MMP is not waterproof. It can handle a little water, but way less than a MM3 or a Sidewinder V3. It's quite cheaper and a bit smaller than the Mamba Monster though and it can handle sensored motors. And also 6S.

they are a little expensive for a battery, but it has been my experience that you get what you pay for. and i know people that use them and they haven't had a bad thing to say about them. so thats why i'm going to give them a try.

In the end it is your money. There are batteries which have the same or either better quality for a way lower price. Don't expect people that pay way too much for a battery to easily confess that they regret buying it.
