Thats way cool, The Slayer pro 4x4 is the best SCT in it's class IMO.You will have fun with it for sure, And you only have 32 more days to wait. lol
Thanks for reminding meOver the winter I plan on putting on the losi 3.4 carb and possibly taking off the ez start and putting on the pull start. you guys have any thoughts on this? *Nitro newb

also, is their a conversion i can do to change the hex's out to 12 mm instead of 14 mm? I dont want extensions though because then the wheels wont fit underneath the body right?

I like the pull start, But it's a pain sometimes because you have to keep takeing the body off and you need the glow lighter for the glow plug still. I'm only a basher so i prefer the EZ start. And i dont know about the hexes, I have allways used the stock 14mm's.

alright tekno, sounds good. and i only thought about taking the ez start off because everyone said it was terrible. I can see how it would suck to take the body off...

also, when i get the losi 3.4 carb, am i going to need to reseal it somehow?

I am an E guy so i dont know much about nitro's anymore. You should ask that question in the Revo section since the trucks are based on the same setup. http://traxxas.com/forums/showthread....4-carb-on-3.3

No. Look at the huge thread further down the page here in the Slayer section. Much more info than the one in the Revo.

Will the sc8 body fit on the slayer? anyone have experience with this?
http://www.youtube.com/user/dennerracingteamdrt
It might, I have an E-Slayer. A Slayer built on a E-Revo platform. The E-Revo chassis is longer by an inch or so then the stock Slayer Pro's chassis. And the SC8 body needs some trimeing on the E-Slayer so i think it will be too long on a Slayer pro. http://traxxas.com/forums/showthread...-Slayer-owners.
alright! thanks!

alright! I'll probably just leave it stock until i blow the other one apart. probably the case for everything on the truck except the carb!

could i put a 1/8 latemodel body on a slayer pro?? anyone? also what could i run for body mounts?

sorta thinking about the stalkerrc.com stalker ss body

I think the SC8 shell might be too long for the Slayer Pro chassis. As mentioned it fits ok on the ERBE chassis as it is longer but it BARELY fits the ERBE chassis if you are looking at it from a total length point of view, the SC8 is a long chassis truck.
But flush to the front bumper and trim the back up as required it would look ok i think.
On my E-SlayerPro4x4 i mounted it forward a bit and trimmed it to fit around the front bumper, even modified the bumper a bit, and it still hangs the slightest bit past the Slayer's rear bumper.
pics for teh visuals.
front trim and bumper modification
rear end
still rubs w/trimming

I've just about trashed my SC8 body on my eSlayer...I think because of its length it has taken its fair share of beatings from landing nose first or tail end first with the ground. I have almost used a whole tube of shoe goo to stop the body from splitting further.
It does look great on the eSlayer tho.
I'm a Rock n Rolla !
i think i will probably go with a flo-tek from proline then. and will these > http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXADLU&P=7 < work? i assume they will. it says the inner diameter is 6mm. then thinking about running jconcept tense wheels with trenchers. anyway i can put mudflaps on the rear bumpers? i dont want to make them my self

I would like to say Welcome to the forums... I would like to make a suggestion since you are new to nitro. The hardest thing to get through is the learning curve of tuning...
Now the thing that makes it hard is there is basically 2 symptoms for about 100 problems.
Symptoms being high temps, poor performance...
Causes = 500 of them at least....
So with the fact that a change in the weather, fuel, nitro%, altitude, barometric pressure, air filter mfr and exhaust will all make changes and affect your tune I can not recommend more to just get your tuning and driving skills down first before you go making a lot of changes.... I've seen many who jump onto the Hop Up bandwagon only to be greatly disappointed in all the money and time they spent ending up with a pile of parts and a blown engine in less than a gallon's use...
I highly recommend running your new RC for about a gallon at least before making changes to the engine, fuel etc....
Pull starts are great, but if your tune is off,,, you can bet you will have blisters between your fingers....
My first recommendation is get a hand held temp gauge, read the owners manual, especially the part about the carb, and tuning for performance... Then read this and read it many times follow it to a T and you will get tuning down...
