Well, hey guys! Today was pulling the engine apart on the Revo 3.3. Ran into a problem with trying to get the flywheel bolt off. As I was attempting to get it off, it wouldn't budge. Me being a complete dummy decided to manhandle it and when I was doing that, one of the pins (or whatever they are called) on the flywheel sheared off, went flying into my face and landed on my workbench. Was wondering if I could run with only one pin, for now I just CA glued it on but not sure if that's going to work at all. Or should I buy a whole new flywheel? Thanks in advance. First the pull start, now this! Ughh!

That will not work. Also don't run it with just one pin.

New flywheel is in your best interest. Depending on how big of a hole you have made by bending the pin out you may be able to attach it temporarily. I used a conservative amount of JB Weld or similar product to reattach the pin and it worked alright on a short term basis. Got a new flywheel and that one went to the trash.

Yup, Since my T-Maxx is out for a while, I'm just gonna steal the flywheel off that and put the broken one into the trash. Hopefully I can get this baby running well by the end of next week. Thanks guys!

I've seen a vented flywheel for the revo 3.3 seems like its a little bigger than stock flywheel not sure if it would work though

Stock if you are not going to use a bump start. Or if you want to go with a very good clutch then you can get the Buku clutch which comes with the flywheel.

A whole clutch, flywheel, and bearing set can be had cheaper than a single flywheel if you look around.

All I'm saying is for the price of a flywheel you can have other parts that you WILL eventually need for the same price.

That's exactly what I was doing when the pliers slipped and I was still had the death grip on them. they went flying up and clamped onto the pin when boom.

I'm waiting on an ST racing 3 shoe clutch for mine, its only just over $20 on ebay for the flywheel, alloy clutch shoes, springs & the nut, would be a better option than going with the standard type 2 shoe clutch with the spring around it. Even the m2c clutch/flywheel kits are reasonably cheap on ebay.

I set my engines in a vise with the back side of the flywheel resting on top of it and a give a little tap on the end of the crank. Works everytime. I leave the vise loose, just closed enough to catch the flywheel, and hold onto the engine while tapping the crank with a hammer
