didnt you just put the RRP diffs in there? those are not the one's that stripped right? I would take my chances with the stock diffs then if it was them rrp's. i've been doing ok with my diffs no ticking,clunking, knocking, i only get sqeuling or sqeeking from somewhere but think it might be the bearing somewhere as it got wet.

I have the maxx back together with a stick ring and pinion shimmed. I think I will try it with the slipper backed off 1/2 turn and see how it goes. I have a video of her driving I will.post later-we do go up there to bash!

mine is set about 1/4 or less lol seems to work just right there i have my merv like that as well and pede and all seem to work great as long as i dont punch 100% off line then i'm good which i only do 50% off line then 75% throttle all the time except for a few occasions where i have hit 100% on take which i did during those vids not sure if i did it in the vids or not.

With the 8090 gear all it needed was a pinion shim. Side to side was good but even with the 8090 it stripped. Guess the plastic diff case flexes a bit
I will run it shimmed and loosen up the clutch some

I see you got a racetemp gauge...Sweet...I love mine, they work so well . You wont be disappointed...it beats carrying a temp gun around in your pocket .

Talking about motor fans. I picked up one of these for a few dollars more than the castle fan. It has a heat sink and much bigger 2" fan. I will probably install when i get tired of replacing the ice amps blower belt every time i run 6s. Looks like a nice little combo heat sink and fan for our mamba motors.

That looks like the hobbywing heatsink and fan I am going to get from rcecho or another place i found that costs only 6-8 for it plus shipping and thing and you can always upgrade the fan later on when it burns out if it does.

Looks like it to me. and i paid 20.00 for it. Not the smartest purchase i have made. LOL Live and learn. Next time I do some more homework. Also makes me think the fan itself might not be that good. but like you say you can change it. Dragonslayer LOL

to tell you the truth the words of that ad gets you thinking huh sounds good i want it thats what i thought then i looked at the hobbywing same thing and thought wow for less than half i can have that and get like 4 extra fans as back up just in case haha but like you said gotta live and learn and next time do homework. The heatsink on it does do a good job with the fan added its even better to draw heat away. for me my motor doesnt run any hotter than 126*F tops thats the most its got when i went offroading geared 21/65 4s ran about 25mins so for me would be just to run the motor cooler than 126 maybe around 110

The castle fan is whisper quiet. Much better than the noisy fan I had on my merv!

Are you guys using an external bec to run the motor fan? or do they work with the internal?

So far so good on the diffs. Took it out today and bashed pretty hard and felt nice going home running!

did you try the maxx out with the trenchers? i know i heard alot that they ballon alot soft rubber.
hey did those tires stick as bad as people say they do? i hear proline tires stink bad... i dont want to get kicked out when i get mine. sold my pede wheels yesterday to fund parts if needed.

Yeah its been like that Saturday here was buckets of rain. Today its clear and drying stuff out but taking a break now mailed out tires that sold and ready to just sit back and relax.
I can see why no more speed runs I would be using mine when I get them for 4s only

Went for a bike around and looked at some houses for sale today since it was sunny and got $20 from mother in law for Christmas today at post office. Didn't get the maxx or Merv out today though maybe next week . next month I might not have time to get it out working a lot I hope.

I could run my maxx in the rain and stay under the roof but its too cold.

Weighed my maxx with the trenchers with 2s 5000 50c. Its 1 1/2 lbs heavier then my revo at 12.17 lbs!

Rain again! So I pulled it apart to reshim. Took another shim on the ring gear and the pinion!

So I took the front apart. What is up with this! Pinion bearing took a dive and of course wasted the ring and pinion

that is some damage for sure. I had the same thing on bearings happen to me, i had some duratrax bearings that worked good and still have them i think not sure where. didnt you just install those back in when you shimmed the diffs? I assume you will replace those maybe since it took your diff with it.

Luckily I have spare from when I put the boca ceramics in my revo and an extra ring &pinion too
This happened on only two rides!
