I had a similar problem and it ended up being the RX wasn't sync right. I had to unplug all channels but esc and resync the RX to the tx.
Are you getting any kind of LED codes on the ESC, remote, or the Receiver?
Everything should shine a solid color, red on the ESC for NiMh mode and green on everything else.
Whatever it is I just said... I could be wrong.
no blinking, has red light on esc, turns on fine but not off, good batt in transmitter but that would not make it turn off.has not bee wet or hot, never use high range or unlock the diffs, month ago had red blinking light on esc from leds but doing good after unpluging them
Did the motor turn when hooked direct to a batt? If not it may have blown a brush
Missing brush motor is dead.
Sent using lipo power
Mountains cant stop me
they have tried
Check to make sure that moisture isn't in side the traxxas link.
I popped the cap on mine and there was water in there. I took the link cover off and pulled all the plugs blew them all out, pulled the Chips out cleaned them all up blew everything out.
It was kinda doing similar things.

Fortunately, Traxxas has a lifetime warranty program...

Looks like the form is down from the site right now, but I remember it being quite a bit cheaper than a new or even a used one on eBay.
