New summit burns up 2 servos?

I have a new summit with maybe 5 runs on it with the stock batters. Today we put Lips in it and it would run for about a minute and go in to shut down. I know how to switch from Lipo to Nimh mode. so thats not the trouble... I also noticed that when you turned the wheels, the lighting would flicker, but only when you turn the wheels. The left servo was very hot. So i brought it home. I found the right servo did not work at all, and the hi low servo had also stopped working. All of the servos worked when my friend got the truck, i checked them my self and did the alinement so the stearing servos would not fight one another. any one have any ideas? why this thing would be burning up servos.. it really has not been ran hard yet at all? no water no real jumping... also how is the warranty? how does it work? can i call traxxas and send the servos in to get new ones? could the ESC not be putting out enough power for the servos?

So far me and my friend have gotten 10 or 12 traxxas trucks... used and new.. I have gotten 3 my self, this year alone.. this summit is brand new and it is the only one that has dissapointed us so far.

They must have not been in perfect alignment... or faulty servos; the reason Traxxas has an excellent free replacement program for new RC's. Just give them a call and tell them what is going on... 9 times out of 10 they take care of you, 1 time out of 10 you might need to call back and talk to someone else.

I have HOURS of run time on my stock shifting servos without any issues.
I had a few packs through the stock servos without any issues, I only switched out for more power.
Whatever it is I just said... I could be wrong.

Yeah I haven't had any issues with the stock servos - until I broke a diff one by tightening it too much. Certainly give them a call, they're great on the phone! As Jimmie said, if you're not satisfied, just call back to talk to someone else! Hope it gets fixed =)

When I striped out the gears in my summit all I did was contact Traxxas and they sent me new gears to rebuild my summit and all was better. I think they sent me 4 sets. Customer service was top notch!

Make sure not to overtightened the pivot caps in the hub carriers that hold the pillow balls, they may bind and overwork your steering servos and eventually fail. I always leave a little play in the hub carriers. For maintenance always unhook the shocks and steering linkages to check for free movement of the arms and steering movement.

Oh and if you jump try to land with the front wheels straight

One bad servo can take out the whole entire truck. It can cause quite the headache.

Remove the reciever cover. Turn on the remote. Unplug the motor wires, so if it glitches, it wont take off. Then turn on the truck. Start unplugging servos one at a time until you find the the bad one.

I am on my 3rd left steering servo. Everytime it fails, my truck does some really weird things, such as accelerate when turning, wont move, or it will just shut off on its own while driving.
