    First Rally paintjob

and my second RC painted body. am alot happier with this one than the stampede and still learnt alot in the process. used all paskolor paints this time and didnt have any problems with the brush. some of my lines arent straight enuf and some of the taping bled...all learning experiences.

quite easy to mask and paint. the eyes on the back and the girlies are all painted on. next time i will also paint the numbers so they aren't decals either. i should have done a transparent black around the girlie masks aswell. i really regret usingthe rally window decals, i should have just masked the windows myself and kept them clear.

overall though, very happy. hope you like it ! my next rally body is a proline focus body and my sons slash body is on its last legs aswell.

laying out the rough design. i changed it from red to metallic blue.

Looks awesome! So when you use liquid mask do you have to cut into the body with an exacto knife? Does it leave the cut marks?

Thanks man. Yes, you use an exacto knife. As long as your cuts are at the paint transitions you can't see anything. Interesting you ask though. Cos I did make another cut by mistake and you can see a faint line. So important that when you cut, you cut right on the line you are painting.

Thanks ! They are stock ofna buggy wheels and tyres from fleabay. I like the wheels, but the tyres are rubbish. Great if you want it loose and sliding all over the place though. I'll be removing them and putting on the duratrax derringers.

The masks I got off eBay, search for rc masks and check measurements for your body. Everything else from tower hobbies.

Looks great for your 2nd body dude! The more you do it the even better you will become. Now only if it wasn't so expensive to paint your own....

Hi, I'm new to this world of rc car, I have a rally 1/16 vxl and I have a problem, what happens is that when running only bends slightly to the left.
Now you change the (front diff) with the axles and still the same problem ... and not the remote. please help and thanks

    First Rally paintjob

Wilo you might be better off starting a thread in the 1/16 rally forum about the problem. May have better luck finding some help. I can't see much wrong there personally. Do you mean the wheels wobbling ? Most of my wheels wobble a little when not under load due to some slop in one component or another. It doesn't look pronounced enuf to be a bent axle to me. Good luck mate.
