    well that was stupid!

    i accidentally shorted my 6500mah 3s lipo!
The connector (from the charger side) was a bit destroyed and every time you wanted to connect the battery to the charger you had to push the dins with something..sometime i used my finger, sometimes a screwdriver..but not this time..
I had the bright idea to use the black connector in the photo below..

to push in one of the dins..while it was halfway in the battery connector..

result was to short the battery and burning-flaming-flying wires landed on my fingers!

I have not yet checked if the lipo is ok..
cause i have to fix the wire and connector first..so i can connect it on my charger and see the voltage in each cell..

anyway..any suggestions to see if the lipo is fine? it was half empty when i did the stupidity..
should i just connect it on the car and see if it works? or that's a bad idea?

Lesson learned , If the charger has bad connectors , then i would replace the charger , as for the battery i would take to the lhs an ask them if they could check it , an no i would not connect it on the car and see if it works . jmo

Noo! That would be a VERY bad idea my friend.

If it was my battery, I would put it in a LiPo sack and run a discharge cycle. Then, if the voltage is normal (no less than 3.2 volts), I would balance charge it to capacity, again using a LiPo sack. As long as it discharges and balance charges okay, and holds 4.2 volts per cell without any problems, you're fine to put it in your car again.

On closer consideration, you may want to contact the battery manufacturer and as them what the best course of action would be. I have a feeling the LHS will simply look at it and if it doesnt show signs of puffing up, they may call it good.

    Food for thought

haha..you too huh? ;p it smells so bad! i keep washing my hands and they still smell like burn..

I have the orion charger with the screen and i am thinking of connecting the battery on
    and check its voltage..
    then run a discharge cycle
then charge it and see if it reaches 4.2v per cell

    would that work?

Yes. Just be sure to use a LiPo sack and stay right in the area while it's charging!

just reporting that lipo is fine and working strong..
when i checked it today it had 3.8 in each cell and it was charged up to 4.19 with no sign of unbalanced cells..
then i run the car with it with and then charged it again..with no problems
