    Dying "The Ripper"

Picked up some Rit dye this week and now I am going to dye the chassis, front bulk head and the transmission case all black. I'm hoping it will turn out as good as some of the other chassis's I've see done around here. Going with black because any aluminum I have/put on it is/will be blue. So far the only aluminum I have is front castor blocks from Traxxas in blue and front cambers from Traxxas in blue.
Hoping to get this baby done tonight.. Before and after pics to follow afterwards.

Good luck! Black is a pretty safe color. I'm doing the same thing for a build but Scarlet red dye.

I've dyed 3 chassis so far and everything has went really well. I much rather have that over the light gray. It'll go perfect with the Traxxas Blue Alloy. Can't wait to see the pics of the finished product.

Did you leave the front bulkhead screwed in while dyeing it? Looks good!

Yes I left it screwed on.. The screws were a tad bit dyed.. but it won't last long.

Not sure how you would do that.. I'm sure after using the screws a few time the dye would wear off as Rit dye is for fabrics.

Looks good man! It came out really dark. I accidently left a screw in on one of my parts and the darn thing grew rust the next day. That screw was replaced. LOL
